Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I was hooked on Hexic when I discovered it on the 360 hard drive. Spent so much time on that. Its just a relaxing experience with no time constraints.

I would say FPS are the most addictives for me be it solo or multiplayer on the PC since Wolfenstein and Doom, think I played hundreds of those till now without being bored. Can't start a game without finish it, be it the worst game ever.

Havent played any MMORPG and not that much into RTS since starcraft years ago. And other games that still make me play hours are Winning Eleven on PS2, Final Fantasy tactics on PS1, Front Mission 4 on PS2, Halo2 on xbox, killzone liberation on psp.... oh and Collin Mcrae rally any version until now.

Addictive games. So much time lost.

When I was like 5 or 6 I started playing the gold Box AD&D games on my older brothers computer. I couldn't even really read everything but I'd watched him and friends play it and figured out the rest of the commands from context. I played Pool of Radiance and Secret of the Silver Blades so much that his monitor burned out and died on me.

He also had the original Pirates! which I played nonstop.

After grade school I used to go to the mac computers and constantly play Moria, Angband, and Zangband.

I spent about 4 or 5 years playing Hexen 2 online. There was this great mod called "Siege" which was way ahead of its time. One team attacked a castle and tried to seize a crown while another team defended it. There was such a perfect blend of strategic planning and frenzied action. Siege also drew on John Boorman's "Excalibur" with a sword rising from the water and music from Wagner and Carl Orff. I was so sad when the community around it faded away. Hexen 2 never really got the attention it deserved. Anyone else here ever play Siege?

Age of Empires and Age of Kings were real big for me. Probably played them together for a good decade. Never really got into any other RTS.

Freshmen year of college I bonded with the guys down the hall on daily Dynasty Warriors 3 sessions. We got almost every character and item in that game.

Also Golden axe is real big for me. I just love the feeling that the characters are on a real quest. Especially when you see the skeletons in the walls in Death Adder's castle. It makes you wonder who they were and what sort of history that world had.

I'm sure there are a lot of contenders, however for myself and a close group of friends, super monkey ball 2 on gamecube takes the cake. We've wasted multiple days in one sitting... figure that one out.

Dynasty Warriors 3 was my first, and probably still my favorite Dynasty Warriors game. I was OBSESSED with that game until I had completed EVERYTHING. The rpg elements made it addicting, the simple hack and slash gameplay made it easy to pick up and play, and the strategic elements gave it some depth.

It had some great epic moments too. I mean there was that Battle of He Fei Castle. Playing it on Wei's side on a high difficulty was truly epic. Your castle is overrun with enemies. Your allies are outnumbered and losing the battle. There are enemies EVERYWHERE and you literally have to slice and dice your way through every single living thing you see to keep your allied generals alive and boost morale. It's such a tough stage if your character isn't strong enough, you really feel like you're fighting for life every single moment.

By the end of the level you could easily rack up 1000 kills. Truly satisfying if you managed to keep all your generals alive while wiping out the opposition because then you'd see your whole army assemble and march towards the enemy commander, who was stuck facing your entire army with his one little division of soldiers. Loved that stage.

Another addicting game for me was Starfox 64. I saw it at a friend's house and was so blown away that I demanded to play it, and for the next hour or so I was so drawn into the game that I pretty much ignored my other pals in the room who were all chatting amongst themselves about various things. I loved the arcade like feel of that game, and also how cinematic some of its stages were. Area 6 where your small group of fighters were pushing their way through an entire enemy armada is one of my all time favorite levels in any video game. A difficult, fast paced level with tons of action. I loved the enemies' shock and awe at each line of defense you and your squad would breach. I especially loved when the one guy says, "These guys are crazy!"

I truly love epic, cinematic moments in video games.

Oh, and Resident Evil 4. Couldn't put that game down for a long time, it was just so damn cool. The cabin fight, the battles with the lake monster and the big cave troll thing, the fantastic gunboat battle in Ada's adventure on the PS 2 version, and facing off against three insane villagers with chain saws in Mercenaries. I've done everything there is to do in the Gamecube version of the game except speed run it, since I don't actually enjoy doing speed runs.

Super Monkey Ball was a great series. But one of the things about multiplayer games is that you need a bunch of mates around to get addicted to a game.

I've been addicted to multiplayer games like Mario Kart and SF2 in the past. But now that I mostly game alone I dont really play those games that much.

Twisted Metal 1 and 2. My friend and I got so many hours of multiplayer fun out of that its almost incalculable. The sad thing was that there was pretty much only one good map per game. TM1 had Canals and Rooftops, and TM2 had the hidden rooftops level. But everything else was pretty bad. Not only that but TM1 only had two good characters, Mr. Grimm and Spectre. So its a testament to how good those few elements were that we played hour after hour into the night... Oh the anger I had when we agreed not to take the health on Rooftops (health is so cheap) and my friend took it anyway 'by accident'. :)

Great fun! Might have to break my PS1 out for some Canals action sometime soon.

Simple, Tetris, its a game that never gets old no matter what console you play it on and no matter how much you play it, it just does not loose its charm.

Monkey Ball DX for Xbox FTW!!! I spent like upwards of an hour on one level where I lost every 30 seconds. That game had me hooked.
