I like this idea. It sounds like a lot of fun.

This'll be my second time through the alphabet. I still need to buy an X and a Q. Was thinking Quartet and Xenoblade.

I originally posted this in the 2014 thread because I assumed it was this thread after someone bumped it, you bastards.

I'm planning on taking a more methodical approach to my backlog. I want to have one PC game, one console game, and one handheld game being done concurrently, and I'm not going to touch unplayed games until I've finished games that are started but not finished. New releases are the exception; those can get started right away and bump an in-flight game out of line until the new release is done, then back to what I was doing.

My goals for 2015

Buy the last ten games for the nes I want to get which is cheap games.

Collect the rest of my genesis collection

Keep everything I own and just put away what I don't play.

Collect the rest of the Atari games I want to get.

I compiled a list in a notepad. Between getting a SMS controller for my power base system, an Atari 2600 controller, collect my genesis games etc.
I think my main focus is to just think it over on buying games, collection, eBay and all the other ways of buying. I think that would be my first goal

I think my big gaming resolutions for 2015 will be to recatalog, further organize, trim the fat and photo my collection to share with the online communities here, at gtz, on facebook and for insurance purposes. I did photos game room early last year but I'd like to also do the games, consoles and accessories up close.

Cool. Those sound like good choices, but I have to say I'm hard pressed to come up with much more for X. Xak might be good, but I don't think there are any available in English (Bone would know I bet).

I might take a crack at this too. It'd be a good way to frame the Summer Game Challenge, and challenges like this are fun to tackle while giving direction.

So question then, do you have to select all 26 games before you begin, or can you choose as you go?

Any other rules?

I know that I just made a joke set of resolutions last year, but I'd like to make some sincere ones this time around. I'm struggling to come up with any, though. :?

In fact, all of the goals I can think of related to gaming have nothing to do with either playing or collecting games

I actually meant Xenosaga or Xenogears, I've beaten Xenoblade before.

Some games for X:
XGRA: Xtreme G Racing Association
XIII
X-scape (and it's japan only predecessor - X)
X-Com
Xenoblade
Xenosaga
Xenogears
Xenophobe
Xexyz
Xmen
Xevious

I've selected my games ahead of time, but they're not set in stone. It just helps me plan it out - some letters I only have one unfinished game for, so it's helpful to know that I should save it for then. I'll PM you my planned list.

This will probably take me the better part of the year based on the games I've chosen, so I might sit out the summer challenge this year - or else just do 5 games instead of 10. I was planning to alternate 1 alphabet game with 1 game of my own choosing so I don't get too burnt out.

Some good suggestions for X. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of some of those. I even have a couple of them. Oy.

Looking at your list, it may indeed be better to skip summer challenge. Though I'd bet that if you hit M by June, you'll be fine.

Alternating is a good idea though.

This intrigues me also. Should we make it part of the "Games Beaten" thread or a separate thread where we all track our progress through the alphabet?
