I quite enjoyed Man of Steel. Guess I'm weird that way.

Of course, Guardians of the Galaxy was... err... stellar.

Even when you remove the irritating "homages" to the original Wrath of Khan, Into Darkness was, at best, an OK action sci-fi flick with a plot that felt like it was put through a ringer.

I'm feeling from the bizarre comments I saw a different version of Into Darkness as that movie was amazingly good. It was far better fare than what had come out of 'Star Trek' for a long time now in the movies other than the one just before it. Perhaps it angers trek nerds for not being too much science and not canon?

Being better than the Next Generation movies doesn't say much. I found the plot's pacing to be very inconsistent. The first 15 minutes of the movie were almost nonsensical. "You've lost your ship!" "I'm giving you back your ship!" And the movie would have been better served by not trying to remake Khan in a new image, but rather making a new villain altogether. That and fixing the pacing problems. Seriously.

I thought Salvation wasn't a bad movie, as with such films, if you leave your brain at the door they can be quite entertaining. This new film looks like another such film, i'll watch it!

I said NOT being too much science. I didn't say it had lots of it, it's an action movie.

There are a multitude of problems with Into Darkness beyond it offending Star Trek nerds.

The only bit I liked was when they fled from Admiral Robocop's ship and it caught up with them in transwarp. It made a cool sound and it was a pretty good shot. Credit to JJ Abrhams for turning a really shitty script into something almost palatable. Maybe I should be more excited for Star Wars 7?
