You actually have to have the game for that.

DVD2Xbox will delete files that are not needed ONLY if you included the correct .ACL file. It will also replace Videos files with a 1 sec/Blank video, however some games will not work correctly if you replace the videos.

lol. I've had mixed luck with dvd2xbox, it worked perfect for some games, and others it'd fail at the last minute or the rip just wouldn't work. But my dvd drive was dying so that may have been the entire problem. imo it's often easier to just download the game and be guaranteed that it's a proper copy.

I dunno, I used dvd2xbox way back when in conjuction with a Blockbuster gamepass, filled up my harddrive really fast and never had an issue. As for downloading, I would burn it to a disc and then use dvd2xbox. In my experience, I never had a problem with it :P
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Holy crap is Surreal 64 a pain in the ass. So far I can't get Nightmare Creatures or Conkers BAd Fur day to work. On a positive note, both Golden Eye games, Duke Nukem, MArio 64, & Mario cart 64 work graet though. Seems like it's hit or miss with this for the Roms. I also need to figure out a better controller configuration for the Golden Eye games & Duke Nukem, it's tough with default settings! Anyone know off hand what Roms for Surreal 64 on a modded oXbox will work & what won't?

I also can't get Vs. Super Mario Bros to work either. It loads but I can't start/play it. Weird. This is on the BAED emulator which I thought it would be on MAME considering it's an arcade port? :?
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Yeah, I've found N64 emulation lacking, even on the PC. I gave up eventually and got a flash cart. Most other platforms are better supported. Make sure you're using the latest version, and check the compatibility list here

As for Vs Mario, I don't know. I usually advise people to make sure that their rom set matches their MAME version, but I'd be surprised if the BAED included mismatched rom sets. The emulators on the BAED are a couple years old now, you might have better luck with a newer version. Anyone know what the best version of MAME for the Xbox is these days? You will unfortunately have to find a matched set of ROMs though.

Thanks for the link. I keep getting booted from it though when I try to open it, could just be my crappy work computer though. I'll try it from home later. I find the N64 Roms play better on PC than the modded Xbox for some reason so at least I have it available that way too and for Vs Super Mario Bros. Is it possible to transfer those PC roms to the Xbox since they work already or is it different? I'm scared to play the PS1 Roms on the Xbox now as I'm wondering if I'm going to experience the same issues with that? It's not the end of the world but it would be nice to know if they'll work or not.

for surreal 64 settings, check scenyx. they can be found as an .ini file from one of the forums there. they have different threads for different systems, one being xbox and navigate to software section and then to emulators. i know they have the latest .ini files to help 64 roms run better or just plain run altogether. when i come across the file, i'll post it.

£5 USB to Xbox cable, (okay so I was too lazy to splice one myself!).

Got it today, used PSP (as it was the only thing that worked!) with little memory card as a Xbox memory card, to copy a save, which launches the exploit on Splinter Cell, and then install the hack.

Reasons for doing this now:

1. Little brother used to use the Dreamcast as an emulation machine (I don't let him touch my SNES without my permission!!). Dreamcast is currently out of comission (no room for it, plus it has the stupid pin problem again (pin moves, dreamcast goes into reset loop) which I can't be bothered to fix). Now Xbox can play the gameboy games he likes to play (we got a super gameboy now, but he seems to like obscure japanese carts.... :/).

2. Some of my games in my 70+ collection don't work all too well on my xbox.
There are 4 in particular.
-I have 3 copies of the SegaGT/JetSetRadioFuture disc, and only one BARELY works! (So I'm going to use a copy).
-Guilty Gear X2 Reload has issues, so I've installed it to the hard drive.
-Sid Meirs Pirates (which I also own on the PC btw!) is dodgy but too big to fit on drive. Copy disc required.
-Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (Also own on the 360 as well!!). One of the Rarer xbox titles, also has some trouble loading. already backed up to xbox hard drive.

3. Xbox is a Dead Console. Very Much so. There are literally 10 titles I don't have for the console. I'll probably get them eventually (except for 2 of those, since they are really rare!!), but Isos will do for now.

4. May later update harddrive then install most of the games I own on there. (So I don't have to switch discs, which is an issue since my xbox has a dodgy tray that works but you have to push it a bit... :/)

5. There is currently no decent xbox emulator on the PC. So I can't even just use my discs without the console... >:/

I dunno what mame emu BAED comes with, but most up to date one last time I checked is CoinOps. It has a pretty impressive interface with full video previews and good game support, though no Vs Mario. But it does have Mario Bros.
As for PSX, what limited experience I've had with it on the xbox has been waaaay better than N64 games. Most games I've tried that work on pc without fiddling work fine on the xbox as well.
