They have a great atmosphere though and are a great place to pick something up on a whim or that you don't want to spend a month bargain hunting elsewhere for a month or two. Admittedly I usually only buy one or two things when I've visited their stores, but that's because there aren't many common things that I'm after. I do however always enjoy a visit to the store, even if I mostly look around and chat with employees and other customers. I usually feel a little bit bad when I don't end up buying something actually.
I understand there's overhead costs, and the atmosphere is definitely appealing, but even their online prices can be a joke. They sell on convenience, but also on people's sentiment. Only someone on a whim with sentiment will buy Super Mario World with All-Stars for $60+ bucks.
It's not that I hate the store, entirely. It'd be ignorant to do so without first stepping foot in one. But their prices have me thinking I'll go for a look, not a purchase, which when it's not exactly close to where I live, might be rare. I honestly hope it does well, though. The other few retro stores left in Houston (games+ mostly) are phasing out a lot of Sega merchandise, and slowly, older Nintendo merchandise.
