Actually, it turns out there is a very good chance I will be helping my sister move into a house across the street that weekend. I will have to offer my house up on a different weekend or meetup unfortunately

Ok, I figured the last weekend of the month will be bad for Halloween plans for people.

I've never been in, but reading that article, I can only imagine Game Over as having a great selection, but not great prices. $8 for Wild 9? Pass.wip3outguy7 wrote:http://blogs.houstonpress.com/artattack ... deo_ga.php

They are a retail store with rent, power, and employees to pay so they aren't going to be filled with fantastic bargains. They have a great atmosphere though and are a great place to pick something up on a whim or that you don't want to spend a month bargain hunting elsewhere for a month or two. Admittedly I usually only buy one or two things when I've visited their stores, but that's because there aren't many common things that I'm after. I do however always enjoy a visit to the store, even if I mostly look around and chat with employees and other customers. I usually feel a little bit bad when I don't end up buying something actually.JoeAwesome wrote:I've never been in, but reading that article, I can only imagine Game Over as having a great selection, but not great prices. $8 for Wild 9? I understand there's overhead costs, and the atmosphere is definitely appealing, but even their online prices can be a joke. They sell on convenience, but also on people's sentiment. Only someone on a whim with sentiment will buy Super Mario World with All-Stars for $60+ bucks.Hobie-wan wrote:They are a retail store with rent, power, and employees to pay so they aren't going to be filled with fantastic bargains. It's not that I hate the store, entirely. It'd be ignorant to do so without first stepping foot in one. But their prices have me thinking I'll go for a look, not a purchase, which when it's not exactly close to where I live, might be rare. I honestly hope it does well, though. The other few retro stores left in Houston (games+ mostly) are phasing out a lot of Sega merchandise, and slowly, older Nintendo merchandise.
