WE know what SMAS is. The majority of people that own Wiis do not.

Even if your assumption about the majority of Wii owners is correct (of which I am skeptical), the majority of people who buy collector's edition games or who are big enough Mario fans to care about the anniversary almost definitely do. The very few that don't know that probably won't care, because they'll still be getting it because it's an anniversary collector's item more than because of the actual game.YoshiEgg25 wrote:WE know what SMAS is. I have a few responses...YoshiEgg25 wrote:Considering I know more people with Wiis that are over the age of 40 than my age or younger, I would think that yes, most don't know about Super Mario All-Stars.

1) My experience is not similar. I don't know *anyone* over 40 with a Wii--only people around my own age or younger. Basing your idea of the userbase on just people you know is highly subjective and not at all reliable. I suspect that neither of our personal experiences represent the actual makeup of the Wii userbase.
2) Do you think most of these people you know will be buying the anniversary collection? It doesn't seem like something that appeals to the 40+ crowd. If not, they're not relevant to the topic.
3) If they've never played Super Mario All-Stars and don't know what it is, then even if they buy the anniversary collection, there's no way Nintendo can possibly be fooling them into buying something they've bought before, as originally suggested.

flamepanther wrote:Mod_Man_Extreme, I will concede your points about the game's audience. However, you're deftly shooting down the same insinuation I was originally objecting to: that anyone was being "fooled" or that Nintendo was selling people the same game they already bought several times before. Thanks

Even if a store was fooling people, it would be that store doing it, not NintendoMod_Man_Extreme wrote:Ah, well at least we weren't fooling anyone when selling it at my store.
