Metroid: Other M - Worst Metroid Ever?

Its different, and before I get blasted back story has always been important it just never interrupted gameplay like it does in Other M.

Anyway, like other said before me I would recommend renting it before buying it. Once you play it you will probably like it. I personally think that most of the negative reviews were mainly because the game wasn't Super Metroid: Other M.

You'll have to show me the Metroid game that isn't Other M that has a heavy focus on story. I don't believe I've played that one!

If Metroid Fusion is all you've got, I'd really have to wonder what you'd consider 'light' focus on story.

You get what, three text-based 'cutscreens' throughout the game? (I just played through it again about a week ago.) There's barely any story at all, and it certainly doesn't compare to the game-interfering cutscenes in Other M. Fusion is basically the first game to introduce any real direction/story as to what it is you're doing and why, and yet there's so little of it that it's fairly easy to forget. The story in Other M keeps smacking you in the face at every given opportunity, as well as turning Samus from a strong independent female lead to a weepy weak walking vagina.

I really don't understand how Metroid series fans are defending this one. I believe I said earlier, it's an ok game on its own without the 'Metroid' brand, but as a 'Metroid' game it's downright awful.

Yeah it's not so much that Other M has a story that bugs people, it's that the story is so intrusive and well... bad.

In all my days, I never thought I would ever see a Tommy reference so skillfully made in a discussion on Metroid.
