I know that I've played Forgotten Worlds on a Capcom collection for XBox. I'm sure they offer it the same way on the Wii.Octopod wrote: I bought the DataEast collection for Wii and Heavy Barrel controls with dual sticks using the classic controller. Works out pretty good. True, as long as they set it up for classic controller, but the PS3 and 360 have a dual stick out of the box. Moving with the nunchuk and aiming with the wand could work as there are PC games that work like that.Limewater wrote:I know that I've played Forgotten Worlds on a Capcom collection for XBox. I see no mention of Vice: Project Doom!
Kickass ninja-gaiden-ish gameplay with a cheesy plot. (complete with NG-style cinemas!) Switches between vertical driving/shooter and sidescrolling levels. It's okay to hate a bit on the driving levels but the sidescrolling levels are pretty classy.

I plan on putting the history and info for all of the games along with some instructions. Please PM me if you're interested in helping out.

You're including both the Contras and the Probotectors? They're the same games with a couple of character sprites changed.
If you're including US/Euro variations separately, you might also then include the Shadow Warrior games, since they're the PAL versions of Ninja Gaiden. Or the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles games.

I included Probotector just as an extra. Same with Solbrain for Shatterhand.
Some people don't know Probotector and I thought it would be something neat to add. Solbrain however I enjoy more than Shatterhand. My grandfather brought me his NES from when he was in Korea and he had a copy of Solbrain. I didn't know there was an american version until I was older. But there are not only some graphical changes but the story and plot is different as well.

Right, so that makes some sense for Solbrain, but in the case of Contra it is just a little bit of changed artwork. There are games that had crosses in Japan that were edited out of the US releases, but I wouldn't count them separately. But that's just my opinion. It's your list.ThrashOmen wrote:I included Probotector just as an extra. Same with Solbrain for Shatterhand.

Re: Putting together a Manly collection of NES games. Thoughts?
Sort of related to this topic. I've been seeing commercials for The Expendables movie, which apparently is an action movie that brings together all of these well known, manly heroes like Arnold Schwarzenager, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Dolph Lundren, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, Sylvestor Stallone, etc.
What if you guys could do a retro game equivalent? Who would be the gaming equivalent to each of these guys? I'm thinking Final Fight's Haggar could fill in for Steve Austin and either one of the of the Contra guys could fill in for former alien asskick turned governor Arnie

Aside from those, Clark Still and Ralf Jones from Ikari Warriors.Gamerforlife wrote:Sort of related to this topic. Speaking of which, I notice no Ikari Warriors on that list of 78 NES games. What gives?
