Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Even though the Vietnam patch is being released soon, has anyone tried out the new map pack released a couple of weeks ago? It has some maps from bad company 1 as well.. Some of the new maps are actually the only ones where the 4X Zoom score really works since it's basically an open space..

Vietnam patch has already been released, that was the map pack you are talking about. I can't wait for Vietnam to finally drop.EvilRyu2099 wrote:Even though the Vietnam patch is being released soon, has anyone tried out the new map pack released a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, harvest is a bit mixed, there's huge open spaces which means fucking wookies can be extremely fucking annoying for no gain, and then when it moves into the village it's actually pretty good. I'm not too keen on the new maps, I still prefer the old ones. Even more so now they've moved the Mcoms out of some of the buildings so people can't cheese them with Destruction 2.0. It's funny watching teams struggle because they've relied on noob tactics (C4/destruction 2.0) to take out mcoms for so long that they can't arm an mcom and watch it for 30 seconds. Whereas I and the group of people I play with have done that all along and we have become extremely efficient at it to the point where we all know exactly what to do and get on with it.

I meant the actual Vietnam DLC.. The new maps are for BC 2 modern gameplay as well.Niode wrote:Vietnam patch has already been released, that was the map pack you are talking about. Now you've peaked my interest again. I used two types of shottys. One type was the under the barrel shotgun. It was a surprising weapon to use that gave you three guns in some sense. Powerful and not many people used it so it was fun to shock people who thought having and SMG was a automatic win in close quarters. The second was the USAS-12. That with extended rounds and extra ammo specializations was hysterical when all 12 rounds in a mag would mow down a bunch of assholes camped up in a building.Niode wrote:Have you played recently? They nerfed MCOM damage of all types. It takes A LOT of C4 to blow an Mcom now. It takes at least 3 or 4 times the amount of time it takes to arm and blow the MCOM. However, shotguns are super powerful now, which is a good thing since they're actually useful close quarters weapons now, but everybody uses them. At least you don't get ridiculous situations where you shotgun somebody in the chest from 5 feet away and it doesn't kill them.casterofdreams wrote:I hope its going to be great. I just play squad death match until the rush crates become immune to c4 or takes 100 c4 to take it out of commission.

USAS 12 is pointless really. The MCS is a superior gun purely because it takes up less of your peripheral vision. Power is practically identical between all the shotguns, might as well use the one that doesn't block 30% of your view.casterofdreams wrote:Now you've peaked my interest again. It is amazing. Top notch quality and the weapons are lovable except one, Fuck You Flamethrower.OldSchool_Boy wrote:So whats the opinion on the add on? Im really digging it.
The only thing that bothers me is that when you switch from normal multiplayer to Vietnam and back, it doesnt save the loadout you created forcing me to set up the four kits every time I do the switch.

Man I love playing as a Recon in Vietnam... I've gotten really good at it and spot like a mofo.. I've sniper 2 people out of the Huey with one shot at one time and I'm starting to quick scope like a madman.. I'm shocked at how good I've actually gotten with a controller for FPS..casterofdreams wrote:It is amazing.
