The band on stage sounded just like the original groups back home. The big song in literally every singer's montage was "Dust in the Wind". Wasn't in Kansas anymore.

Pretty good boxers from there too.

I actually forgot local artists in small venues i saw a lot when i lived in PA, but those aren't really most people's idea of a concert.

Surprised at the number of metalheads here.

Woah I am impressed. You have seen alot of amazing shit. Also props to the guy who saw ozomatli. Shitty metal is all of it. I used to like some metal and still listen to some dimu borgir, judas priest, and mastodon from time to time but when metal is all you listen to it becomes redundant way quicker than strictly listening to any other genre. idk I dont actually feel like arguing so everyone is right.

Ozomatli was great. I saw them twice, once in a very small venue (the TLA for those in the Philly area). They started in the back and paraded through, each playing a different percussion instrument. It was great. They continued until they got on stage and launched right into a song. I saw them again at a huge venue and they did the same thing even though it was a very long walk.

You know, I've never done this... The most notable ones I can think of at the moment are:

Beach Boys w/ America (1st concert, age 13)
ZZ Top w/ Jackyl (???)
Smashing Pumpkins w/ Garbage
Alanis Morissette w/ K's Choice  (It was a date, dammit!)
Deftones w/ (st)Incubus and Taproot (booooo!)
Perfect Circle x2
Tool x3
Snoop Dogg
G Love and Special Sauce
Isis x3
The Roots
Bloc Party
Sigur Ros
Mogwai
The Cure
Interpol x2
The Rapture
Mastodon (my buddies opened for them, lucky fucks)
Reverend Horton Heat
Buddy Guy
Tomahawk
Tortoise
Meshuggah
Martin, Medeski, and Wood
Ween
EDIT: Just remembered Queens of the Stone Age, and ...and You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead

I've also seen lots of bands when I worked festivals like Jazz Fest and Austin City Limits serving food. Some of them include Dave Matthews, Crosby Stills, and Nash, or Lenny Kravitz - none of which I consider true concert experiences.

If festivals I've worked and attended did count, my number would be a lot bigger. But there are so many I don't remember... For example, I just thought of Coldplay. But I don't even like them.

The only well-known bands I've ever shared the stage with were Blood Brothers, Buried Inside, and These Arms Are Snakes. Blood Brothers pretty much embarrassed the other three bands playing that night. They were incredible live; and we had to play after them. :? Buried Inside were cool as fuck - and good thinking man's metal. I didn't really like These Arms Are Snakes much, both when we opened for them and when I saw them later opening for Isis.

What's wrong with Alanis Morissette? Her first album was ok...

I would love to have seen Bloc Party after their first album. Hope that was when you saw them.

i go to about 2 shows a week, at least. i've seen probably over 1,000 different bands. some of my favorites:

thursday @ rhino's in bloomington (maybe 40 people there)
shai hulud (every time i've seen them, close to 15 times now i guess)
avail/leatherface/dillinger four, emerson theater, indianapolis, 2000
planes mistaken for stars @ fraction bar in muncie, 2000
alice cooper on halloween at the murat theater in indianapolis, 2001
propagandhi/paint it black/ruiner, ottobar, baltimore, 2009
burning fight, chicago 2009 (unbroken, trial, threadbare, 108, bane, have heart, indecision, hope conspiracy, dozens of others...)
disfear/the dream is dead/world eater, melody inn, indianapolis, 2008
dude fest 2009 (portraits of past, mind eraser, punch, comadre, sick fix, ice nine, etc)
dude fest 2008 (i don't remember, a bunch of awesome bands)
dude fest 2007 (see above)
sick of it all/AFI/hot water music/indecision "life on the ropes" tour, emerson theater, indianapolis, 2001
the cancer conspiracy (any time i saw them, you dudes into prog should listen to this band)
brand new/colour revolt, house of blues, chicago, 2007
botch @ krazy fest 4, louisville, 2001 (or 02?)

i lived at a punk house here in indianapolis for a short time, some of the best shows i have ever seen have been in that basement:
ice nine
frontier(s)
touche amore
defeater
raw/nerve
failures
seasick
give

i'll be surprised if any of you have heard of half the bands i just listed. if so, we should probably hang out.

there are so many more. as far as major concerts, i guess, i've seen tom petty and it was cool, i saw jane's addiction and it was a big let down, i've seen the foo fighters around 6 times (once do an acoustic in-store at ear x-tacy in louisville), i did get to see ben folds five, which was amazing. i've also seen some really shitty shit (limp bizkit x2, staind x3, korn, etc...)
