Here's another of my favorite parts. Helps if you are a JRPG fan. Also, have to watch in HD to read.General_Norris wrote:Ey, that intro is very cool. I haven't played the game but at least the intro IS cool.the7k wrote:I'm currently playing Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard

For this video, it helps if you used to play Wolfenstein 3D back in the day.

+1 for GitS: SAC on PS2. I have already praised this game endlessly to friends and even on racketboy. The multiplayer mode is one of the best on PS2. It isn't for everyone but it is definitely one of the best 3ps on the PS2, IMO.
+1 for Shinobi on the PS2. I think this game was doomed because of the changes that were going on in the video game industry. The game is old school, credit feeding tough when most games were moving toward the "beat the game and never die once" mentality. If you like Shinobi, give Nightshade a try. Nightshade is a bit more frustrating but still a damned good game.

I thought that Games For Windows's review of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was horseshit. IIRC, the score was 4.0. That game kicked ass, I'm not sure who at Ubisoft refused to give GFW a blow job.

I'm happy to report that I found a copy of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for a mere $2.00 at a pawn shop.
Thanks for the heads up about this game guys. I'm looking forward to playing it once I get some more free time where I can sit at the PS2 and play.

I personally think that Sonic 3D Blast is a spectacular platformer, and maybe my favorite game set from an isometric perspective ever (or perhaps that title goes to Dark Savior? EDIT: Scratch that, that title definitely goes to Final Fantasy Tactics). It has challenging gameplay, spectacular music, and drop-dead gorgeous graphics. It's only downfall is that it was a Sonic game. The gameplay style wasn't quite right for a Sonic title because of the trickiness that an isometric point of view entails when compared to side-scrollers. If you ask me, the Sonic 3D Blast engine should have been used to make a ToeJam & Earl title or maybe a Beyond Oasis/LandStalker type title since those IP's would be more suited to slower puzzle-solving gameplay and further dependence on presentation. In fact, a ToeJam & Earl game based off the Sonic 3D Blast engine might be the best game that Sega never thought to make. Still, even today I find this game to be a great title, guilty of nothing other than a misuse of subject matter.
It has a GameRankings score of 66.25, but I'd rate it about an 8.2 for being a notably above-average game.

I agree with this. I also thought Sonic R was a ton of fun as well.Original_Name wrote:I personally think that Sonic 3D Blast is a spectacular platformer, and maybe my favorite game set from an isometric perspective ever (or perhaps that title goes to Dark Savior?). I can agree that Sonic 3D blast was decent, but to say that Sonic R was a "ton of fun" that's where I draw the line. You must have never played it, seriously. First someone says that Strider for the genesis and Zelda sucks, then someone else says that Sonic R "was a ton of fun".....I've lost all faith in this forum.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I agree with this. Sure its not very replayable, but I had a good time the 30-45 minutes it took me to beat and unlock everything.KholdStare wrote:I can agree that Sonic 3D blast was decent, but to say that Sonic R was a "ton of fun" that's where I draw the line. Sorry buddy, you have a typo. You mean't to say that "Sure it's not very PLAYABLE"RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Sure its not very replayable, but I had a good time the 30-45 minutes it took me to beat and unlock everything.
