Damn!! I remember this and the golems. I must have been closer to the end than I thought.

Maybe Ack found my bones and salvaged them.

Pokemon Yellow: Trying to train up lapras(which is taking forever XD) since it seems to have decent special compared to my other pokemon. Might be switching to the snorlax instead though....

Lunar: decided to start this up since I knew i was working on it to find that somehow I must've restarted over my save awhile back. I seem to be stuck now that I've continued. Used one of those albino monsters in the dragon cave to break some ice and went in for the chest and now I'm stuck behind the rock. I'd battle the monster but that appears impossible since I can't seem to collide with him at all

Haha, I hate to tell you this, but yeah, you were basically at the end. All you needed to do was get the Key of Infinity and the key to open the door to the final hall. After that, chuck in the talismans and run for your life.

That said, I remember you complaining about the platforming in level 8. Having been through it, yeah, I can agree with you. I was lucky in that I had found a pair of rings that greatly enhanced my mobility options(one of which I only found because I had found the other). They made getting around the final level much, much easier than if I were doing it with just the base jumps. If you still have your save handy, or if ever you get back into UU, I can tell you where the rings of leap and levitate are.

Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone

Since this had three votes, I decided to try it out and cleared the first level and most of the second pretty swiftly. It's less an RPG, more a 3D hack-and-slash with RPG elements. You control three characters, all of which are Dungeons & Dragons stereotypes: the fighter, the rogue, and the sorcerer. No cleric unfortunately, but I guess I'll just have to deal without. The game also starts you off with a bang as you wade into a fight between two rival tribes of orcs and goblins, while a dragon flies around spitting fire and wood elves cry from wagons converted into jails. You rescue some, watch others get horribly murdered, and eventually find your full team while fighting hordes of enemies who are just as interested in battling each other as they are in you. It's a great set piece to kick off the game.

Unfortunately the rest of the experience hasn't been so great. The camera is pretty atrocious, and the controls...well, this game was definitely designed with a controller in mind, not a PC keyboard. There seems to be no lock-on system for targeting, the key layout is kind of a mess, and I'm wondering if a 360 controller would work better.

Good word choice. IMO, we do not use the word "murder" enough when we talk about our experiences with video games.

For the record, I voted for Unepic.

Same here. (I am way into Grim Fandango now, but if someone goes that way later, I will dive into it too.)

If I'd known you were playing with a keyboard, I'd have made a different recommendation. (Seriously, you're playing on keyboard?)

I'd have done the same. I pretty much only use controllers for 2D stuff. I remember trying to play Dragon Age Origins w/ a controller and it felt so weird.

Ha, thanks. I promise, if I ever do the journal approach again to a first person RPG like I did with Ultima Underworld, I'll give you more than a few synonyms for 'kill' to enjoy.

Last night I only had about half an hour or so to test things out, so I decided to check out the base controls. When next I get the chance, I'll experiment with a controller and see if that works. Either way, we'll see.

Lagoon and Soul Blazer are in competition over which game can feature the most inappropriately loud slap bass in the soundtrack.

Just rolled into the fourth town. The order of towns goes like this:
Human town
Elf town
Dwarf town
Hobbit town

Yes the game actually uses the term "hobbits."
