I think my username is relatively self explanatory, but sometimes I wonder if others are reading it as 'pie rot.'
Pierrot is a stock character of Commedia dell'Arte. He's perhaps most famously known for his rocky relationship with Columbine, and being tricked by she and Harlequin. The most immediately recognizable image of Pierrot, these days, is probably that of a clown in white garb with his face painted white, and a tear drawn under his eye in black. This representation of Pierrot comes from the opera, Paggliaci. The aria "Vesti La Giubba," from Paggliaci, was used in the episode of Harvey Birdman, "The Dabba Don," and a number of other instances in popular culture—sung by Pavarotti
