Key, have you played parts I & II?
Seriously, that song is soooo gooood. I'd listened to the soundtrack a bit before I started playing. Been stuck on that tune for weeks now.
No, this is my first Phantasy Star. It's also my first Genesis RPG! It was a gift from several years back, and the Summer Challenge seemed like a great time to finally buckle down.

^ Gotcha. I was just trying to figure out why you chose this over the others.
1. Final Fantasy V
2. System Shock 2
3. Descent 4. Ultima 5. Loom 6. 7th Guest
7. Mortal Kombat 2
8. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
9. Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels
10. Castlevania: Dracula X
Well, that was short. Crap, I'm not sure what to jump into next...

You have been soft-balling so far. Time to take it up a notch and do the Lost Levels!

Haha, just trying to knock out the short fluff first. I want to get through as much as I can before I get tired and start wanting to play something else. So far, favoring the short and sweet has netted me several victories.
When you are ready to jump into System Shock 2, download the enhancement packs that are available to improve texture quality and the like. They help a lot. Also, this is one of those games I think it helps to read up a little in advance to decide which character optimization path you want to take. Being a jack of all trades/master of none can cause a few problems in making the game harder than it needs to be, so it's good to at least commit to something enough to have a couple solid abilities pumped up.
