Most people will say VI(III in the original US SNES release) or IV(II in the original US SNES release.)

If you play VI/IIIus, if possible, try and shoot for the SNES cart. The GBA version is infamous for wonky audio, and the Playstation port is infamous for its slowdown and long load times.

If you're playing IV/IIus, try and avoid the SNES cart. The original release of II in the US is dumbed down and has a really poor translation. Most of the other versions will probably be fine (save for the divisive DS remake), I'm sure op.woc could tell you a bit more there. Personally, I'd reccomend the Playstation port, as it's pretty good and dirt cheap. It has a completely redone translation and doesn't have any of the slowdown or load time issues that the Playstation ports of V and VI do.

IV is awesome on psp w/ After Years.

If you haven't played the original it's on my list.

You should be honored that I am discussing video games with you, but amused is also acceptable.

Besides...this is a video gaming forum...we are supposed to discuss games here.

I knew I should have put Warriors of Fate. That's what I get for trying to list the proper title. I think I will revert back to it, since I've owned it for over a year and have yet to give it a decent play.

I only listed Kirby 64 because it is the only Kirby title that I haven't spent an abundant amount of time with. It didn't overly impress me when I played it originally, but you also have to factor in the installments that preceded it.
So I'm on the fence, but I think I may stick with DL 3.

If you want the one regarded as the most 'classic', probably VI. If you want one of the more defining early games in the series, I or IV are the obvious choices. If you want the BEST one though, go play V

Besides, there's one entry in that list that clearly suggests a lack of dogmatism...
I changed mine because I knew I probably wouldn't finish Myst IV. I love the series, but I don't like III and IV nearly as much. I've been trying to complete IV, but man....that is a toughy. Also, Monkey Island 2 should be a breeze!

@Blu. Oh man your list....you have your work cut out for ya man. Phantasy II, IV, Skies of Arcadia AND Jet Grind Radio? If you finish all of these in the time limit...I applaud you good sir!

I was with you until Jet Grind Radio. That game is only like 8-10 hours long :S

Ah, he's playing Tenchi o Kurau II (technically "Tenchi o Kurau 2: Sekiheki no Tatakai" aka "Warriors of Fate")? That would be fine.
"wo"/"o" = を

They're the same name, Ds. It's just an inconsistency in transliteration. Word processors in Japanese will typically only display the character by typing w-o, and at times it's pronounced in kind.

@Blu - Play the DS remake of FFIII. It's not really a classic, but it's easily my favorite FF pre-IX. Also, I would not recommend the playstation version of FFIV. There is an excruciatingly long load time between the menu screen and standard screen. (Similar to the Chrono Trigger port.) Personally, it makes FF Chronicles unplayable for me, but if you can deal with a black screen for 4-5 seconds every time you go into, or leave the menu, then it's pretty good. I'd rather play the PSP update, though.

Oh with Jet Grind Radio, I just found that game to be very challenging is all.

1. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
2. Shining Force (GEN)
3. Dark Souls (360)
4. Halo 4
5. Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
6. Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)
7. Monster Rancher 2 (PS1...this one could take forever...)
8. Pokemon Yellow (GB)
9. Mega Man X2 (SNES)
10. Final Fantasy 3 (SNES)

Hopefully I can complete the majority of these this summer, but a few of these are pretty long. Still, anything less than 8/10 will be considered failure for me. I'll be starting to work on this list in June.
