What's your username mean?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Re: What's your username mean?

For me, I've only had 2 usernames since having the internet. No kidding, which is kinda weird. At first my username was se37 which was the initials of my pin name, Shawn Eastman and 37 which I feel is my lucky number. After having se37 for so so long (from 1998 to 2009) I started to think up another username and it hit after I started becoming HUGE into anime and gaming.

Konacha is a somewhat combination. I'm really big into the anime and manga series, "Lucky Star" and the one of the main character's name, "Konata" I was also a huge fan of. I felt this anime series help me get back into anime and video games to become what I am today with collecting. So I went to a forum and wanted to use the name "Kona-chan" but I couldn't use - and someone had already taken Konachan. So I decided to remove a letter and go with Konacha37. Later on I just dropped the 37 and went with Konacha.

What is really funny is that in 2010, I found out that Konacha is in fact a green tea in Japan. It's a cheaper green tea and used in cooking. I found this out when in Walt Disney World in Epcot's Japan Area. I just was walking around looking and saw the tea that said "Konacha". So yeah, that is the story.

My name was made up by myself. In the movie of A Series of Unfortunate Events, Jim Carrey in one scene mispronounces the word "surprise" as "supreez." I made up a phrase based on that, "Boring Supreez"; that is, a boring surprise. An unexpected event that is mildly annoying or just dumb in a lame way. Like getting a birthday balloon filled with mustard instead of air. Anyway, when I was signing up here I wanted to use something other than my real name, and BoringSupreez was the only original phrase I could think of. Since I made it up, it has the advantage of being available on every website I register on.

You guys make me laugh. Especially the ones who explain their name and avatar more than once.

And what happened to Niode?

One of my favorite series of books is the Homecoming Saga by Orson Scott Card (say what you will about his psycho religious bashing of the gay community, the guy's a good sci-fi writer!)

Anyway, in the series, there's a character named Zdorab that uses something called The Index to speak with another character/entity called The Oversoul which is a huge sentient computer system in space. I just liked the way it sounded, so I started using it.

I *thought* I had already responded to this. Anyway, to explain my avatar:

It's a scene from the AKIRA manga. It portrays Yamagata (for those only familiar w the anime, they call him 'Yama' in the movie) after his head was exploded by Tetsuo.

In the movie, Yama's death is never seen on screen, just the beginning of the 'fight' between him and Tetsuo.

My username is a memory dedicated to my old YouTube account. I originally came up with it when I used to watch Sonic X and the time when X-Box 360 got popular in 2005.
