What's your username mean?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I originally used this name on a 3DS forum, hence the 3DS part. Strider is one of my favorite games. On my Nintendo Network account, I'm 3DS Rider, since I wanted to be somewhat original, and because I'm now a huge Kamen Rider fan.

There is another Thread on this 17 pages worth! It also answers both the Username and Avatar meaning. Maybe a Merge to avoid repeat answers?

I've had a lot of them. This one on here, is a product of a dumbass 13 year old me.

Goldfish, which is what I've used predominately for quite a while now (longer than any of the others stuck), came about on a Terraria server, where I built a house over a lake filled with corrupted goldfish. A friend of mine ended up getting killed in it a few timesl. Ended up being "that goldfish guy". It just sorta stuck, and I like the name well enough.

RT, which I put at the end of my names sometimes, is just my initials.

I wanted to come up with some kind of Egyptian God-esque sounding name or something. Wanted it to start with an X or Z, then somehow I just eventually came up with Xeogred. It was pretty weird and random... DESTINY?!?

I'm PRETTY SURE I haven't posted in this thread(s)...

But yeah, some years back I wanted to use "Nemo" as a username all over the place. It's Latin for "nobody" and I've always thought "Little Nemo" comics were interesting. Unfortunately, it's a name that's been taken PRETTY MUCH EVERYWHERE. So I thought "nemoid" would work as a substitute that could be pronounced similarly to Leonard Nimoy's last name. (I have no idea if people pronounce it right in their minds.) BUT IT TURNS OUT THERE ARE SOME OTHER PEOPLE USING NEMOID TOO! So I added in "e" so it would keep the same pronunciation... there aren't many other people going by "Nemoide" out there!

I sometimes try to explain it to myself as a combination of NEMO and ID or else IDE (integrated development environment)... but honestly that kind of explanation doesn't really make sense. I mostly just wanted something unique!

Since at least part of this thread was about avatars, I'll explain that too. My avatar is a photo I took myself, because aside from wanting an original username, I like having an original avatar. I have a small collection of tin robots and that's one of them!

I combined them.
