the best PC games that never made it to consoles

Pc to console ports are usually pretty bad. If you are going to make a Pc gaming article, definitely do the "Games that defined" idea rather than just listing exclusives only.

I think the list with the same name and the same idea as is the name of this topic would be more interesting and..far more useful for us, console gamers.

and when I don´t know if the game was ported or not, I type to google something like "Doom wikipedia" and if it was ported there is list of all platforms etc.. so try this guys, and you can be surprised sometimes

All I'm saying is that a list of exclusives won't have much in it as alot of games have already been ported to consoles, like for instance something you already mentioned yourself, Doom.

A "Best Pc Games That Never Made It to Consoles" wouldn't do because alot of games that are known and loved as Pc titles (such as Doom) have already been ported to consoles.

As I said before, the console ports aren't very good, which is why it should still be on a Pc games list, only with a different title.

Yeah, but that's a list that has been done already. And sometimes in the category of games that defined the PC a game might not make it because it didn't define the PC, but was never ported neither.


I don't know, the idea of an article on games only available on PC sounds pretty cool to me. X-COM would certainly make the list!

As I´ve already said, that list would be particulary useful for console gamers. And only very bad ports, that radically change the game experience should be mentioned. So this doesn´t mean games like doom, which is pretty good even in its portable form /GBA/

Doom on the GBA was probably changed alot yes, but it has been ported to more than just that(Playstation, Saturn, 32X, etc.). Therefore a list of exclusives would not be able to include Doom and other games that have had console ports such as that. Although on a non-exclusive list, it could.

Think you should refocus the whole topic into something about the best PC game that could have been made into a great console port. Bad ports that changed the game experience is maybe about 80% of all ports. Even so I can't think of one great game that wasn't ported already.

Just hope in the future all this pc and console stuff just blends more into one another. Not until recent years has changes control wise in fps translated the fun you could get from the accuracy and freedom of keyboard+mouse combo, but hopefully we'll get to choose to plug them if we want to. Also the ability to save anywhere like in most pc games is one of my wishes for consoles, sometimes I don't have the time to get to that damn save point.
