gradualmeltdown wrote:well.......yeah I did to beat the final level or so :) I simply was tired of the game at that point and just wanted to see the ending. Fantastic game though, one of my favorites now. I played the NTSC version Lightening Force.
I kept getting to the final boss with like 2 lives and dying. So i used the code too, but after a few times through with extra lives I managed to beat it without cheats on normal. Awesome game! I love the water planet. Have you played Thunder Force III too? because thats right up there.

Yeah, they were a bit on the pricey side - got some off Twinkle Tale though, as the cart had been filed down to fit in a PAL Megadrive slot :p

Currently working on Hyper Duel for Saturn and Pulstar for Neo Geo MVS.
So far Pulstar seems like a great homage to R-Type 1.

Thunderforce AC and Rez are what I am always playing. I am anxiously awaiting Thunder Force 6.

Pulstar is awesome, but I really like the latter incarnation sorta-sequel Blazing Star. Better control, better ships, bigger ememies. I really want hyper duel.....but I don't have the cash to spend.

The four in one disc is a home made collection of 4 shooters. It's got Ikaruga, Pysivar II, Border Down and Zero Gunner 2. You could find it on underground gamer or a similar torrent site.

Also just picked up Imperium for SNES and Elemetal Master for the genny. Playing some Progear on mame too. That game looks and plays amazing, I can't say enough good stuff about it.
