Go forth! To the Thrift Store!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

man i need to go back thrift store hunting.

i remember when i was growing up, i used to go to one by where i used to live and they had a huge plastic tub with an Atari 2600 with a ton of games for only $20. I never got it cause as a 10 yr old, $20 was hard to come by.
I'm back!

I just scored on some good stuff at lunch. I went to this Mormon run place called Deseret Industries, affecionately known as DI if you're from Utah or the southwest. I picked up a complete copy of Phelios for the genny, LOTR for SNES, 1942 w/ manual for NES and a Game Gear(with Colums) all for 3 bucks each. Hopefully the game gear is working ok.

oTTobot. Very nice on the Phelios CIBs for that usually go for about $9 or so If I'm not mistaken. Also I'm impressed with the 1942 that's a great game!

Did you manage to get the Game Gear going? Those are really hit or miss.

Bit of a slow day for me. I hit 4 garage sales and the Thrift Store. All I came back with was a Yoshi's Story (N64) CIB which I was happy with along with a Glover 64 CIB. Each was $4.

Anybody else having any luck out there in the wild?

Just got back from one of the thrift stores I got to quite a bit... got a Model 2 Saturn with cables and 1 controller for $8 .. It was $10 but I go there allot and my wife donates tons of clothes to them, so the kicked off a couple bucks. I have found its really worth your time to get to know someone working there.. they can keep an eye out for stuff. I remember I used to give beer to the guy that accepts the drop offs at salvation army. He would call me when anything game related came in. He's gone now but it was well worth it.

Nice, the funny thing about the N64 is that I think the controllers are worth more than the actual system. I see just the console with cords going for like $7 alot of the time. So congrats on the controllers you got a good deal.

I love Golden Eye, but's it's funny how slow the action is compared to modern FPS's. I hadn't played it for years and it seemed like it was in slow motion at first.
