Yeah, I hope to do something similar.
Also make a calendar for upcoming games as well.

How about R-Type (TG-16)? I dl'ed it onto my Wii today and I think it would be great as the first shmup played in Together Retro.

I love R-Type a lot.. but I would really like to see Gradius III for SNES or Salamander (life force) for NES as the first schmup. I view the Gradius games as "gateway shmups". R-Type can be too hard for people who don't normally play shooters.

I would definitely be up for Gradius III - I'm playing it atm on VC - it has a nice learning curve IMO, it is made all the better for me by my recent acquisition of one of these (thanks D D D) :

house of the dead 2 or 3- many systems

Good idea -- I'll keep them in mind.
The trouble is that those probably limit the number of people that can participate.
