New Star Wars Trailer

Seeing the trailer prompted me to watch Empire yesterday for the first time with my son. He'd seen A New Hope about a year ago but had troubles focusing and dissacociating SW from the Angry Birds SW games he loves so much...

He loved Empire. Was on the edge of his seat most of the film, was freaked out by the Degobah cave scene, loved the Hoth battle, and couldn't watch when Han was being turned to carbonite. He was floored by the suggestion that Darth Vader was Luke's father. Mouth agape.

That said, I think I know where Lucas was coming from with the prequels. First thing he asked afterwards: "How did Darth Vader become a bad guy?"

Haha. Yeah the idea of the prequels focusing on Anakin was pretty cool, just too bad the execution was so flawed. I think they should have started with him being older and then someone that could act might have been a plus.

Love the trailer! That X-Wing scene looked fantastic. Who knows if the movie will be good but this was fun to see.

Can someone explain to me why there are still storm troopers kicking around, and why the re-established republic didn't invest into buying newer space ships?

Also, DAMN it's good to see the Millenium Falcon again.

Not really super excited by the trailer. I do have to say the X-wings look amazing and got me hopeful, but everything else while pretty cool didn't really pull me in.

I'm all for this, big time. But this teaser is five seconds of new stuff. Which is fine, as that what a teaser should be, but compared to the AVENGERS teaser, this is fodder.

If you watched the original trilogy they have open enrollment mentioned. Also clones age really fast, it is known that clones were phased out. In the original cuts stormtroopers had different voices. If that wasn't the case it has been 30 years and I am sure the empire is not what it once was and Kamino is probably not in use anymore or possible destroyed. Even if they still used clones I doubt they would still be using the Jango stock.

Luke and Han also wore stormtrooper outfits and are not stormtroopers, this could also be the case here.

Don't feel like finding the thread, but are you gonna show the movies to him in that suggested order? Episode 4, 5, 1 (possibly skip 1), 2, 3, 6.
