Well the OP's argument is crap but yeah, I'm sure it goes on. Destructoid is definitely not the first I would target though.

IGN's ratings are more suspect than anyone's by far. Hell, for a long time I joked about how any game that got a certain amount of hype was destined to get a 9/10 and it always happened. The 9/10 rating basically says "yes, you can feel good about buying this one just as you'd hoped you could!" It's not about honestly it's about telling people what they want to hear unfortunately. If it's not a game people want to like and have no opinion on, all of a sudden the reviews are far more honest.

It is humorous though to see the scores of sports games and COD slowly drop over the last 2-3 years. It's like these websites are saying "We're definitely shills but we're running out of excuses why this isn't stale" lol
