Last year's recipient was Hinako. It was planned to go to a homeless Mother, but she left the shelter and lost my confidence.

The "All bids Start at One Dollar" rule needs to go. The most consistent complaint I received was "I paid more in shipping than what X is worth", usually followed by "Well, it is for charity".

I'd suggest to whoever handles the auction to not list anything until you have a completed list. Post a final list on a specific date, and then lock that thread. Then start a separate Bidding thread. It will prevent headaches.

One of the big reasons I didn't handle it last year was because of some deadlines I was up against around auction time. This year I will likely dive back in and run it again, with some changes (including to the $1 start).

Let me know if I can be of help. Lord knows I learned a lot from last year.

But go for it if you'd like, and enjoy those several pages of PM's every day.

You will need 401c or 501c paperwork - which we will not have.

As for glasses, in the past she really only sold Pints and Mugs. With things like Pilsners and Weizners, but they cost exponentially more to make. Pints are cheap for her since she can buy it in bulk.

Yeah, I figured as much. Well that's OK. That was in reference to the shop that's close to me, but it looks like EllertMichael is gonna help us out.

Well pint glasses was what I was thinking of anyway, and I think would be the best type of glass to auction off.

They are easy to print and easy to ship. I will be talking to both of them later this month.

Thought: If we all decide to donate to a major charity, say Special Olympics, we should get the organization involved. I'm pretty positive that larger organizations would shell out some swag such as t-shirts that we could auction off as well.

Pint or steins. There have been a couple of 'put your name on a stein' places that have been at the flea market here the last few times I went.

So I made that Metroid artwork the other year. I'll take subject suggestions to get me brainstorming for something this year.
