If you have the Wii, another option is to get MM on the Wii VC. I think it's like $10 or $12. I'm currently playing OOT on the Wii VC and it's pretty good for the most part.

Yeah, using the C-stick instead C-buttons kind of stinks but you get used to it.

To other people complaining about the time clock in MM, don't you get the ability to stop time during the game?

I still say he should get an Expansion Pak regardless.

Like I kept saying, we're talking about every game since Majora's Mask.

I'm just observing that most of these games got a lot of flack when released and are well loved now.
I like how I turn off the world when it comes to the new big Metroid / Zelda games. They're pretty much the only long running franchises out there that make me feel like a kid again when I play the new ones, always the most exciting releases I look forward to whenever they're on the horizon, while avoiding any and all discussion/articles about them because I could careless, I'm gonna love them.

Other M was a huge nasty stain though, wow. Sure I don't love some of the newer handheld Zelda's (Minish Cap and up), but they weren't diarrhea flops.

And yeah Zelda II is awesome.

You can slow down time and once you find that out, I really don't see what the issue is. I don't ever remember getting frustrated from running out of time and having to re-do hours of stuff. I actually loved the concept and it also added a more tactical side to the game.

I remember when it came out though, a lot of my friends were really annoyed that you had to do stuff in 3 days and that there was no real way of saving the game without resetting everything.

Yeah the saving thing is a bit annoying, even with the owl statue you HAVE to stop playing, but since in the N64 there's no loading times i don't mind to much about it
Even when i slow down the time i can't finish a area in the 3 day limit, because i allways forget the dungeons, but the best way is to unlock the dungeon then time travel and you hve 3 whole days to beat that dungeon.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I'm going to try to find an expansion pack and Majora's Mask now. You guys were right, I don't need another copy of Ocarina of Time. The 3ds version seems superior. Thanks!

Both ring true. Right now, MM is the "God" Zelda game, while OoT is the "outdated classic."
I chuckled.

Oh, I always do that. I thought it was common sense :P

Here's how it is: both are incredible experiences, but they are also incredibly different. Personally, I'd go with OOT, but back in the day I was a MM supremacist.
A lot of people love to talk about how Majora's Mask deals with more adult themes and isn't the same old formula as all the games before it, like Ocarina of Time kinda was (not really). I also eat that sort of thing up. But you can really find adult themes in anything if you look hard enough. When it comes down to it, Majora's Mask is really just about a really bad temper tantrum. But when it comes down to it, both are wonderful and you shouldn't have to choose between them./boring rant

Since you already own OOOOT 3D, you're not missing much by not playing the original. So if you have the cash, get out there and buy MM!

The thing about this is that it applies to every series ever. Gamers are a hard demographic to please when it comes to series.
