Man, I should try that sometime. But for now, I'm playing through Half-Life and after completing it, I'll play African American Mesa Source.fastbilly1 wrote:Be a man GSZX1337 and bind the same mouse and keyboard to two separate computers and play both at the same time. You can do it either via KVM and hop back and forth, or do it the right way and play both at the same time!

Re: Black Mesa out in two weeks
I installed it last night after getting home from my honeymoon, tried to play it, but was falling asleep walking though the halls lol. I will give it another go today.
I forgot how HL2 loaded in the middle of walking through halls, it was so annoying back then, and even more now. My computer could run this game 10 times over, and yet I get stuck for 20-30 seconds for a load screen half way though the tram ride.Pulsar_t wrote:Loading sure can be a pain.

Re: Black Mesa out in two weeks
The initial loading for me takes awhile but other than that it's not that bad at all to me and they're not as frequent as HL2.
Even if you had a beast back in the day though, yeah HL2's loading screens were brutal.

Which SSD do you have to negate loadtimes on source games? Ive not found one that can get rid of them. Ramdrives do, but they are still slightly out of my price range.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Load times?
Oh right, SSD for the win.
Re: Black Mesa out in two weeks
So apparently another group is doing an update of Half Life: Opposing Force and Half Life: Blue Shift in the Source engine. These new versions will be called Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty, respectively.

Re: Black Mesa out in two weeks
So free Black Mesa Source has still never gotten to the point where they originally said it would be, so lets see how far paid Black Mesa Source gets. Thats right, a paid version of the unfinished mod hit Steam today. They apparently cleaned up some parts, but the only important part is that they added Deathmatch with six maps:
Bounce, Gasworks, Lambdabunker, Stalkyard, Subtransit, and Undertow.
Sadly it is priced at $20 on Steam Early Access.
No matter what you think about this odd release, the launch trailer is spot on:

I saw that yesterday and was bummed. I've been waiting until it's finished to actually play it. And I'll gladly pay for it - once Xen is included.

Re: Black Mesa out in two weeks
I will get it on sale since they will eventually add Bootcamp and Killbox to the map list. I see this more of a new version of HLDM than a new version of HL...
