Why doesn't someone inform the people on eBay. I'd like to get Sunset Riders and Splatterhouse 2 & 3 at a good price.

Well, at least they've got a good selection. Look at it this way, if they sold the games for below market value, they would never be able to keep decent stock.BurningDoom wrote:My local used shop has plenty of Sega Genesis games, plenty of which are non-sports titles, they also have Dreamcast, Game Gear, Master System, and even a few Sega Saturn and Sega CD titles. But unfortunately for me, she knows there value.

In all actuality, I think that stores are too worried about charging too much in hopes of selling a few things and hitting the jackpot, where if they sold things cheaper, they'd probably sell more and it would fill the gap. But I could be wrong.Rawkmann wrote:Well, at least they've got a good selection. That would make sense for a product that You can easily replenish without going out of Your way quite a bit. I have a little experience in this area and the days of second hand stores getting decent trade in on any retro games beyond the stuff nobody wants is quickly coming to an end. Even people that don't live and breathe games are starting to figure out that some of their old games can be worth good money. Don't get me wrong though, I've been to a store that was trying to sell Donkey Kong Country 3 for $49.99 and I can't defend that kind of blatant overpricing. But I don't expect to go into a store that specializes in retro games to be selling it for $5 either.harper wrote:In all actuality, I think that stores are too worried about charging too much in hopes of selling a few things and hitting the jackpot, where if they sold things cheaper, they'd probably sell more and it would fill the gap. A majority of what you find still in stores is just Sports stuff. I've had to sit on tons of sports games in lots just so I can get those few items I'm actually interested in.abeaver wrote:I honestly feel like it's because most of the Genesis carts they get are the sports titles, which are literally worth a dime a dozen. Because those don't sell, they probably assume anything Sega-related won't sell. For years all I've seen in thrift stores were NFL and NHL games, which sucks because I used to find awesome stuff all the time.
Which like you're saying is why they think no one wants sega games. It's like a car dealer ruling out ever selling certain car brand because you can't sell their worst model ever.

I can't even find Genesis games at my local 2nd hand shops, I can go over to a different town and find a few at Goodwill for $1-2 from time to time.
