Because it's sad to know that you probably will never play it again once it's done.
There's so many games that I have loved but don't play anymore for this reason.

Re: The reasons you never beat your games
I don't beat many games. I usually get tied up with some other project and mean to get back to it later.

Re: The reasons you never beat your games
I find, as I get older, that time constraints have more and more of an effect on my gaming. Obviously there's work to consider, but social life, too. When I was young I simply didn't have one
but now, even if I am just playing video games with friends, we don't advance plot or anything, we just dick around and explode things.
What it basically comes down to, now that I think of it, is that when I was a kid I was more willing to sit through a game that wasn't necessarily all that good and beat it, simply because I didn't really have a tonne of other options. My game might have not been all that good, but it was the only one I had.
That being said, I still have a pretty decent record in the last year. There's a few games that I have simply given up on, because they're not fun enough for me to slog through another 15 hours of gameplay (Rogue Galaxy), there's games that I haven't given up on but make extremely, extremely slow progress through (Lost Odyssey) and there's games that will be beaten within the next couple of weeks, barring disaster (Skyward Sword).

Re: The reasons you never beat your games
My reasons:
1. Lack of time
a. Wife
b. 2 month old daughter
c. Full-time work
d. Master's program
e. Chores
f. Everything else that isn't a videogame
2. Instead of playing games, I'm too busy looking for deals and buying them.
3. Instead of playing games, I'm too busy reading, watching videos, or discussing them on forums.
4. Occasional loss of interest
5. Too many games in the backlog = discouraging
6. Other interests and hobbies
There are plenty more, lol.
Despite all of that, I think I've done fairly well this year and I am up to 39 completed games. Of course, my backlog probably grew about 3x that amount.

Generally I'm lazy and easily distracted. I'll start playing one game, and then the next day I'll start playing something else and leave the former for several months... and of course during this time I keep buying more games. :/

1- get discourage because im lost (i dont like to use guides) and just hold it off.
2- distraction from playing other games mostly fighter because its quick gaming.
3- difficulty lol... if i get beaten too many times i just kinda give up or hold it off.
