I seriously think this is a myth. All of my friends knew about Genesis and SNES. Ronald Reagan called Jeffrey R. Yee to congratulate him on a high score back in 1982. Ever since the launch of Space Invaders, games have been mainstream.

This is what happens when non-gaming publications publish an article about gaming. It's so far off base that it's a joke, but it's no less ignorant than my local papers when they publish game reviews (most of which are just for Madden or Halo, anyways).

I'm tempted to click the link, but this is a troll list. Surely nobody believes this and they are just trying to get clicks on their site from the inevitable nerd rage that would follow such a crazy list.

It would have been nice if someone who actually knew anything about video games wrote the list.

Steve Jobs may be the most influential person in casual gaming, but nothing more than that. Honestly, I believe that he did more harm than good to video games.
