I can understand people hating Oddworld and Fallout; they really aren't for everyone. Sort of like shmups. The Last Horseman wrote:Mine's not neccesarily hatred, as much huge dissapointment causing dislike. I was overhyped for years on Ocarina of Time. I got it and..... it played pretty much like a slightly less fun, 3D A Link To The Past that had that stupid water dungeon. I was so dissapointed that it played just like a bunch of other action adventure games, and just didn't feel up to the par of 'Best Game Ever'. I've beat it once, and I'm trying to play it again... but its not that fun really. I don't know.
Oh, and I have an extreme hatred of the Oddworld games. I played them once at a friends house, and for some reason hated them reeeally bad.
Oh, and Fallout. I haven't played 1 and 2, but 3 and New Vegas are just... meh. I don't really like them. Just something about the atmosphere...

I wouldn't say I hate them but the Bauldur's Gate series and Fallout 1 and 2 have aged TERRIBLY. Pretty tough for me to get into a lot of the old PC RPGs.

See, I'm not the only person who dislikes Ocarina Of Time. The Last Horseman wrote:Mine's not neccesarily hatred, as much huge dissapointment causing dislike. You sir, are a person of impeccable taste and great judgement. Thank you for voicing your opinion, I now don't feel so alone in this world.dunpeal2064 wrote:Holy shit, someone else that was disappointed with Ocarina after playing Link to the Past. I felt the same. So much of Ocarina seemed like it was rehashed from LttP. Thats not to say I didn't enjoy it, as it was still a fun game, and the 3D combat was done very well. I just really enjoyed LttP before Ocarina came out, and when it did, it just didn't feel quite as unique as everyone else seemed to think it was.
I actually felt the same way about Mario 64. I really liked Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, and even Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island. With the huge differences in between each game, I expected Mario 64 to just be crazy as hell. And... it was, but just not in the way that I had grown to love.

Ocarina is my least favorite Zelda. I've said that many times. (Not counting CDI games, as I've never played those).

I had always wondered why the Japanese seem convinced that the best possible pilot for the giant nuclear powered killer mech is a 13 year old girl wearing a frilly underskirt and blouse, with a sexy negligee over the top and either a fancy bonnet, sun-hat or a load of ribbons in her hair....dunpeal2064 wrote:Touhou. Hate it even more when people try to compare them to Cave/Psikyo games.
This is supposed to be a shootin game, not a pedophilia dreamland. The bullets must be high on some of the finest weed, since their movin slower than a buncha drunk snails.
Although saying that, Vanquish would have changed in tone a lot if that was the person in the mech-suit... and I am oddly intrigued by (and slightly creeped out by) the idea now

League Of Legends, Dota, and HoN, these games piss me off and the people who play them well they are all a bunch of elitist bitches.
i love how they have blacklists, and "noobs" cant get in games that veterans play, if all online games were like this..... brix would be shat.

Re: Irrational hatred for a game?
Why do you feel this way? I'm just asking. After years (Since it came out) until about 3 years ago or so, I heard this was the best game ever. Annnd.... it felt like it was running through the motions. I never had this feeling with the other Zelda games. Of course, I'm one of the black sheep that REALLY loves Twilight Princess. I always loved the wolf portions too. I can't explain why.... I've always liked wolves/dogs/coyotes/foxes, so anything with them makes me like them more for some reason.Balasubbie wrote:I'm seeing test-tubes, bubbles, chemical fetuses and crazy scientists.noiseredux wrote:Ocarina is my least favorite Zelda. Oh, and I am kinda getting the same vibe with Goldeneye. It feels old and clunky, unlike say, Doom, which I thought aged awesomely.
