Though the DS does have a cool clam shell design and the stylus support, I'd say PSP wins out in every other area

I disagree with great power the battery life was sacrificed
The single factor I dislike about the PSP is the battery life if the battery life is not great then I don't consider it portable.
It's one of the reasons I would favour a cheap netbook over a 17.1 inch DELL notebook other than it's too big to carry around.
Actually I feel the same about the PSP it's too big to carry around.

Personally I am confused...

Logical reasons says to get the PS3
when one of you said that the 360 was released in 2005, that just showed me how old it is
thats like before people knew youtube existed. damn..it must be OLD hardware(yet i still see the graphics impressive)

Also correct me if I am wrong, but the ps3 has a b/g wifi? that sucks big time...

I always preferred the 360. For its time it was the icon of online gameplay and hip games, i always liked Gears of War and Halo, but lately i noticed the 360 is dying. i dont hear much people praising it because it went the Kinict way i guess. Maybe it just got old...

every1 is with a ps3 here and online is a must. I guess ppl just prefer not to pay, makes sense.

What I like about the ps3 is that its a free bluray player(i just checked on amazon and they are at $150)

then again the entry model on the 360 is just $200, cant beat that!(I am guessing I cant attach the white xbox model on this one, right?)

also I understand is that the online content for 360 is better right?
demos, extensions, and games?
I got 0 idea on this subject I haven't been online for years. Last time I was online xbox still had the slides dashboard :p

maybe the next gen. should be out already?
But for the first time I am not sure what more do we want from a console, it does about everything right now. Graphics still awesome for me.

Since you need original discs to play online, this is about the first time ever since the psx days that ppl around here bought legit copies of games :p
it was always the $3 bootlegged stuff
I guess people are bastards, they got the money but they prefer the cheaper.
I was always under the assumption that around here they felt that $60 is too much for a single game.

Then again prices around here dropped big time a new game used to be easily at $92 or more. Lately we have seen prices at $70 which is fair enough I guess.
Even more, older games dropped its prices, before it was $66 of a 4 year old game which is at a great discount price!

The PS3 hit in 2006, draft n wifi products didn't really roll out until 2007, so it's really no surprise that the PS3 doesn't have better than b/g.

I think some of the popularity of the PS3 comes down the exclusives. The 360, as solid as it tends to be for multi-platform releases, just doesn't seem to have the same volume of exclusives that it did early on (outside of Kinect titles of course). Meanwhile, the PS3 seems to be securing more - though it does go both ways (Dark Souls coming on 360 comes to mind).

I'm getting kinda sad at how the Xbox 360 is starting to falter. I still prefer its controller and the community though. I love Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, and the multiplatform games I can get on it. The exclusives have really faltered though, and I'm kinda glad that this generation is starting to come to an end. We stille have about 2 years, but I'm getting the idea I'm going to become a Nintendo kinda guy again. I've seen some of the innovative games for Wii and have thought of getting it, but I do believe I will wait on getting those games until the Wii U comes out.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

@noiserdeux

I just didn't think of it as a 2005 hardware...because it still looks good enough.
Maybe because of the constant updates to the overall looks, specs, and even the GUI and online content.

@isiolia
I know about the wifi thing, but then they released the slim model which they should have updated it the wifi to N. The 360 had NO wifi and then they added wifi N.

I never knew left 4 dead was a ps3 exclusive :?

i think in general the 360 platform is dying because its at the end of its lifetime.
its breathing its last breath. I do not think you can bring anything new and exciting hardware wise, so there is no excitement built up. I think probably the hardware is used to its max right now.

Excitement can be achieved over new games, but it wont be special to the 360 as most are non-exclusive and to invest in a great game now is just too late. I bet they are starting to develope new IP's for the next gen already.

Left 4 Dead is an Xbox 360 Exclusive, Not a PS3 exclusive.

As a fighting game player, I went with the PS3 because:
1) No Regional Lock-Out (Tons of fighters on the PS2 never came to America - it's great to know I don't have to compromise my system just to play them this gen.)
2) No Peripheral Lock-Out (PS2-to-PS3 converters, X-Arcade hook-ups, PC USB pads, etc.)
3) No Proprietary Hard Drive (With all the PSN fighters as both true PS3 games and PSone Classics, I need that hard drive space.)

As a PC Gamer, I went with the PS3 because... I've already got a PC that can run most Western-developed games. Why do I need a box that hooks to the TV to let me play them? It won't even let me hook a mouse and keyboard up to it!

PS3 is one of the few systems I don't own. I honestly went w/ the 360 because of the price tag and I had already played the PS3 since my brother-in-law has both consoles, I personally didn't see any difference in gameply or graphics w/ one over the other. They both have pretty much the same titles available, w/ a few exceptions of course. I have enjoyed my 360 alot and I think there's PLENTY of life left in it. I do like that PSN is free though, IDK why Microsoft thought it would be a great idea to charge for it. What was the outcome of the whole hacked thing w/ PSN? Obvioulsy it's back up but I'm curious what Sony did about it. That would have freaked me out if I had a PS3! I know that could happen to anyone and there are always risks but damn!
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!
