Battletoads, which I believe was discussed on that How Hard do you like it thread. I played it on Genesis and it still as tough as the NES version. I'm still trying to figure out that f'n pattern on the speeder bikes stage! :x Frustrating as fuck!

I had to use game enhancers to beat alot of games back in the day but we're talking about just games that are hard in general regardless of beating them or not I gather?

List:
Any Simpson's game on the NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Genesis.
SMB: The Lost Levels. What a bitch to beat this game!
Mega Man 9
Double Dragon (NES)
TMNT Tournament fighter on NES and Genesis
Donkey Kong Country returns on Wii
Transformers (Famicon)

I'm sure I could think of more but I need to be in front of my collection to really list them.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Not at all. It's MUCH MUCH easier on the Genesis, the NES version of that stage is a good 3-4 times faster.

Beating that stage on the NES version felt like a right of passage for me LOL

Never beat the whole game though :(

Silver Surfer on NES would be on my list, but it is a game I did beat (with savestates maybe, but oh well). I think Mega Man III, due to the slowdown that game has (I play on Wii), it's nearly unplayable.

Be ready to dig some time into it, the hoverbike stage is a joke compared to the rest of the stages.

The slowdown doesn't even come close to making it unplayable.

It is annoying though, I have to admit. It's one of the reasons why MM4 is IMO the best in the series next to 9.

Yeah, I guess, it just seems odd to nitpick a game that came out in 1990's performance issues on a retro game forum.

I agree though, Mega Man 4 is a very good game.
