Not to my understanding. Unlike GB/GBC support on the GBA, the Wii uses the same components for Wii and GC modes, but sets them to sort of a downgraded "compatibility mode" where it pretends not to have the added speed or peripherals of the Wii. I suppose they might need to remove the physical controller and memory card slots, but those could be added back with an external adapter.

However I don't think it's possible to make the Wii that small right now anyway, so it doesn't matter. Maybe in another 5 to 10 years, but then Nintendo won't be making the Wii anymore. It's a moot point.

Except for the lack of possibility of LAN.
