Ever Get So Enraged You Break Your Game/Controller/Console?
Re: Ever Get So Enraged You Break Your Game/Controller/Console?
I'll admit I've gotten angry enough to throw/smash my controller/mouse on a few occasions, but I've been making attempts to know when I'm about to snap and quit at the right time. I'm trying not to be like this guy. I've never taken a console and thrown it or broke it. I never understood why you'd do that.

Times have changed, it never ceases to amaze me how people just put ANYTHING on the internet these days. I'm referring to that video of course. Aren't people embarrassed or ashamed about anything these days? I guess not in the era of reality tv, Jackass movies and youtubeGSZX1337 wrote:I'll admit I've gotten angry enough to throw/smash my controller/mouse on a few occasions, but I've been making attempts to know when I'm about to snap and quit at the right time. I've never broken anything in anger, because I'm not a sociopath and can control my rage.

Indeed, I blame teenage hormones on the little of controller abuse I doled out. But it was never enough to break anything. The CD player was pretty much already dead already and turned out to be a good vent for my frustration at the time.Gamerforlife wrote:Times have changed, it never ceases to amaze me how people just put ANYTHING on the internet these days. The ONLY game that I played that made me throw a controller was Metal Gear Solid 4 because I was trying to do the Vamp fight at like 12:30 in the morning and my reflexes were crap...well and the controls sucked too.
I was whisper yelling because my windows were open and finally I just spiked the controller off the couch.
Other than that I just scream swear words at games; I think I came up with new ones when I played Jak II.

I really hated Jak II, which is like the complete opposite of how I felt about the first Jak game. Jak II turned me off to the series. I didn't even bother with Jak III. I was happy enough with my Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper gamesVincentX wrote:The ONLY game that I played that made me throw a controller was Metal Gear Solid 4 because I was trying to do the Vamp fight at like 12:30 in the morning and my reflexes were crap...well and the controls sucked too.

Instead of gettin' mad at your video games, you should just say "mmmkay"

i was driving along I-70 towards indianapolis from my hometown when my p.o.s. portable cd player in my car started skipping uncontrollably. i yanked it from the cassette adapter (severing the wire), and threw it out my window going 80 mph. i then screamed "fuck" louder and longer than i ever had up to that point.Hobie-wan wrote:I remember throwing NES controllers a few times when I was younger, but I've only ever destroyed a piece of electronics once.
I had an old single disc stereo sized CD player that was really old. It occasionally had issues with not closing all the way and engaging the disc. It would then spit them back out. I had opened up and fiddled with it many times, but this was before I really knew what I was doing. After fiddling with it 4 or 5 times in one week, I couldn't get it cooperating again. I was under a lot of stress at the time and it was really pissing me off. Ended up smashing it in the kitchen and scaring the hell out of my roommates in my fit of rage.
i don't really get all that mad playing games these days. i used to smash the buttons on my ps2 controller a lot in expert mode on gitaroo man.
