I'd take those over anything the PS3 offers any day. Plus who knows what other Cave games will end up getting a US release or being region free. And yeah you have to pay for online but at least the online doesn't suck ass.
Anyhow, you already made you decision and I am sure it is a good one since only you know what you truly want.

YOu have no idea what you're talking about as far as online is concerned... It runs like a champ and it's free.. In fact, I have a pretty good connection and I could make the case that the PS3 Wireless is as good as my wired PC connection.. So you named several Shmups which is nice.. PS3 has Demon Souls, Valkyria Chronicles and the upcoming FF XIV... Saying that a system warrants a purchase because a few measly exclusives is pretty shallow IMO.. I can safely say if I had a 360, I wouldn't think buying a ps3 is worth it either.. Both system basically have the same library and features..
Edit: Well I see you edited your post in regards to bad online play of the Wii.. Can't argue too much with it except I think the Wii is pretty unique, and their first party games are pretty amazing.. I've never been a fan of Nintendo, but I can admit the Wii and their first part titles are high quality..

Yeah, I was talking about the Wii and saw that that wasn't clear. I have no idea what the PS3s online is like. I wouldn't call it shallow at all. Depends what you like. Shooter or jRPGs I guess. There are Wii games I like too but that doesn't make the online not suck ass. When I am playing Mario Kart I do not want to have to line up a game in advance, I want to join a room full of people and play with all real people instead of against the AI. It is what it is though.
I forgot to mention that Dangun Feveron is most likely coming to XBLA as well.
Pacman CE and Galaga Legions also are worthy exclusives.

True if you like JRPGS, the PS3 probably has a better library.. If you like Shmups, go with the 360(I mean hell Ikaruga on XBL).. Really no debate with that.. And yeah the Wii online isn't great but who doesn't enjoy SSMB Brawl? LOL! It's the only game like it sadly... I really wish there was a new Power Stone with online multiplayer, but I guess we can only dream..

Take the plunge! I haven't regretted my purchase one bit. You must get your Ketsui on.

This is part of my contemplation right now... I'm in Japan so obviously a J-360 would be easy to get. But outside of shooters (see above, not FPS), would I be screwing myself getting a J-360?
I've seen on Play Asia's site that a lot of the US released games are not region locked but I'm really torn as I don't want two 360s... I like my Wii (after hacking) & PS3 being region-free.

I say get it, 360 has the best library of games of any current gen console.

I'd have to disagree with that sentiment. Unless you're a hardcore shmup fan, you can match or exceed the 360's library with a PC and PS3. Heck, you'd do just fine with either/or depending on your tastes (like, personally, I don't care much for the 360 games that are also on the PC, so a PS3 is just fine with me), but if you have both, there's very little need to get a 360... unless you are a hardcore shmup fan.

I'd have to disagree with you. My PS3 is only for playing PS3 exclusive games, of which there aren't that many worth playing. Compared to the amount of games that are on the 360, exclusive and not on PC, it's a much higher number.
The PS3+PC argument is a flimsy argument at best. The 360 costs a fraction of the amount a gaming PC does (not forgetting the monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse people often neglect to mention when pricing gaming systems up) so for the vast majority of people it would be a far better investment to get a 360 as well as a PS3. Even then, the PS3 is only worth buying if the exclusive games actually appeal to you.
The fact I have well over 80 games for my 360 and only 21 games (30 ish if you count PSN) for PS3 speaks volumes for the amount of gaming available for each respective system. Did I also mention I have a gaming PC with which I buy the exclusive PC games and the games that benefit from the PC set up (RTS, FPS etc) over the 360? If I were to buy those games on the 360 as well I'd have well over 120 360 games...
