I was going to say that your music reminds me of a lot of the music I was listening to in the 90s that came primarily out of Olympia, WA. Then I saw you have Unwound in your influences section. Awesome. I was really into K! records and Kill Rock Stars back in the early 90s. Unwound was the first concert I ever went to. That was back in 1993. They were in this rinkydink little basement with concrete floors, giant stone brick walls, and pipes sticking out of the ceiling. There couldn't have been more than 20-30 people there. It was so awesome to hear this great band in such an intimate venue. Everyone there was there for the music. I never feel like that at concerts anymore.

"Shit I'm a Werewolf" is a great name for a song. Nice work.

Thanks. I wish I could've seen Unwound in a venue like that. Our guitar player/singer has seen them a few times. Unfortunately i'm the youngest in the band (25) and i didn't really get into the music scene until like 17 or 18 so i missed out on a lot of the mid-90's bands in their hey-days. I was too busy playing videogames, lol.

I like the art style. It takes the grimy and tough world of Gotham and miniaturizes it into cute 8-bit sprites. Do you have like a playable demo level?

Sorta. . . If I'm not busy this week I'll make a point to finish that level and the boss fight. Mostly I just have to add obvious stuff like "dying when you run out of power".

Reason: removed links to my mixes... the hip-hop was too vulgar to post

I also have a ton of solo stuff I have recorded. Not much of it is done, but if anyone is interested I can send it. I play all the instruments. It's along the lines of fugazi/hoover/lungfish/DC post punk-hardcore if anyone is familiar with that stuff. Plus all the songs are going to be named after videogame references.

That is pretty much where my creative stuff ends. I plan on building my own arcade stick this year at some point for 360. I also love to mod guitar pedals and consoles.

holy shit, you weren't in on the might of princes were you?

Nope, but our guitarist Lou was the guitarist of OTMOP. I'm friends with all of them. The lead singer in my other band Yes, Sensei owns/runs RokLok records and he put our their first 2 albums, plus the reissues on cd, and the reuinion shows. He frequents this forum too, but doesn't post. The bass player in Fellow Project was in Bridge and Tunnel up until like 2 months ago.

The lead singer in OTMOP (Jay) is now in a band called the Brass. They kind of sound like drive like jehu with more "emo" stuff mixed in.

this is a total mindfuck for me right now. OTMOP very well may be one of my favorite bands. bridge and tunnel rules also. i am digging the bands you are in, i had heard of yes, sensei before but never bothered to listen.

this forum is fucking awesome.

Haha, yeah. This is pretty awesome. It's cool that our little scene on LI has made it out to other people in the world. By the way, your avatar is pretty awesome.

Before I was married, I wrote this poem out of frustration from trying to get to know someone (and be known by someone) on a first date.

a dangerous introduction

a sugar glaze over malaise
unphased, I repeat the question
what ways of the heart
gaze the eyes at the start of another first impression?
perfumed skin and manners
awkward smiles and banter
such a fragile presentation
this only belies an indignation
wise to the compromise of such formal salutations
let me tell you dear-- that is NOT what it means to be known
nor will it ever be
for you see
it isn't real
the fruit of the heart is never without its bitter peel
and though it's fine and it's kind
sipping sweet lemon sunshine
don't throw away the rind
because a sin well placed is a sin made divine
and wiggly footed pleasure
should be your only measure of what you do
for you and I always knew
it wasn't until pushed over the edge that we flew

Sweet! I wish I had the muscle and coordination to pull off the more powerful breaker moves. I can do liquid well enough to stand out in an ordinary dancefloor, but I've always wanted to have a stronger repertoire of bboy moves. The only dancing I've done that got anywhere near to being that wild was when the neo-swing revival hit in the late 90s. I used to dance with this light weight and fearless girl and I would fling her all over the dancefloor doing flips and jumps and all kinds of crazy stuff. I won a small dance competition at one point. Nice headspins!
