What are the best retro gaming remakes?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I guess it doesn't count, but Donky Kong Country Returns is a perfect game through and through.

Weren't they just ports though? Albeit with a second display and touchscreen controls added on DS

Im gonna say it... Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes. I thought it was great. Just wish they kept the alert phase music :(

THIS. I'm glad someone finally agrees with me that Twin Snakes is amazing!

Also, noise is right; MMPU is spectacular, as well. It was my very first PSP game, and I still love it. A level editor in a Mega Man game? Pure win. :)

Super Castlevania IV isn't a remake, but it sure is one of the best games of the 16-bit generation (and one of the greatest games of all time at that).

My vote goes for Bionic Commando: Re-armed.
