True Gaming Confessions

Whew... At least I'm not the only one who (1.) owns more than 50 games which I have yet to touch; and (2.) has never played Ocarina of Time.

But here's probably my most shameful secret....

I play Madden.

OH NO!!!! Actually, I will play it too. I dont buy it every year. Actually I wont buy it unless there is a huge improvement over the last version I have. Usually only happens once or twice a generation of systems. I last bought Madden 08 for Wii, i got it when it game out for like half off at Toys R Us.
Actually, this gen, the NHL series has been pure fun. I have NHL 08 for PS3, and still play it every once in a while. 09 wasnt enough of an improvement to upgrade though.

Here are my confessions:
1 - I love playing games on "failed consoles," or the non-popular ones such as 32x, 3DO, TG-16 and Saturn more than and of the mainstream consoles.
2 - I played OoT for about 4 minutes and shut it off. And never turned it back on.
3 - I like playing games on consoles over emulators because I am addicted to save-state cheating.
4 - SNES is the least played and least favorite system I own.. And the games if dont have already that I am interested in are few and far between.
5 - Never played a FF game for more than a minute.
6 - I dont see the appeal of games that have turn based combat.

1. I too like "failed" and obscure systems. My 32X is the crown jewel of my collection at the moment.

2. I have purchased about 100 games in the last 6-7 months and only gotten around to playing about 10 of them.

3. I buy WAY too many games on impulse at Vintage Stock.

4. I have a tendency to buy games that are big names whether or not I like the genre/game.

5. I've never played a Final Fantasy game.

6. I don't really like many shmups, they all seem the same to me

7. I detest games that make me read and/or remember too much. I usually play in spurts and the chances of me remembering what I was supposed to be doing is too much work (I'm looking at you Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door)

8. I will waste HOURS on any "Sandbox" game just messing around crashing vehicles and whatnot and never actually start any missions.

9. My most embarrassing... I will often look up cheats for a new game before I've even played it. I'm sure this has ruined many a gaming experience for me though.

10. A game with fun/strange cheats has more re-playability to me than most games. Games involving super-weapons and/or low-gravity cheats are high on this list.

I don't know how much of that is shame, but oh well...

1. I also have this weird tendency to lean towards failed consoles or games. I like playing games on Sega CD and 32X...

2. I've never beaten or played through a Mario game ever. Although I plan to fix this as soon as I get my NES/SNES/N64 Collection off the ground.

3. See 2 except replace Mario with Zelda.

4. I think Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the worst VS Series game Capcom made. A lot of people are going to want to kill me for saying that.

5. I've never played through Shenmue.

6. The only Pre Symphony of the Night Castlevania game I ever played was Rondo of Blood, and that was on the PSP.

7. I think Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are dull.

8. I really like Myst, most people think this game is boring but I always thought it was really immersive and fun.

9. I liked Street Fighter EX 1 and 2, most people think they are crap but they are actually good fighting games. They are especially very beginner friendly.

10. I think Final Fantasy X-2 is fun, and it was the last FF Game I ever liked.

11. I've not played through Okami, and I've owned it since it came out for PS2.

12. I like Fallout 3 but I hate Oblivion, does anyone else understand this? Especially when most people will mindlessly say "It's the same game. Are you retarded?"

Now my question for you...where has REPOMan gone? I ask because I think it vanished after its film was released, only furthering my suspicion that it was the most well-designed spam bot I have ever seen.

Also Hisoka_Ryodan you hate 2 of my favorite genres. Racing and flight combat sims. Its okay though, cause those genres are pretty bleh to most people anyway.
