Supposedly, Nintendo "Pixelbits"...kinda like Legos, but that make Amiibo like things that the IR camera can pick up and add into games.

Ah well, according to the same people who have been leaking these Mini Directs ahead of their schedules, a full Direct catered to more hardcore gamers is coming in February.

Are amiibos not toy-to-life?
Ubisoft, at least, thinks TTL isn't dead with that spaceship game they have.
If they're a cheaper alternative to Lego that have strong properties and even work with games, I could see something like that being at least somewhat popular with how damn expensive Legos are now-a-days. Though perhaps the Lego-like space is too packed for them to make a difference. I know there is at least one Lego-ish toy series in Japan that I've never seen here before.
