The Walking Dead tv series
Re: The Walking Dead tv series
funny how ricks beard is still nicely shaved, t dogg's head is shaved, carol still looks like she just came from a Liz Phair concert. but herschel went all drunk santa. and i guess with him being immobile he can't cockblock carl with the 28 year old.

Am I the only one hoping to see Lori die in child birth? (not gonna happen but i can hope.) That bitch is annoying.
Did anyone notice in the previews that one of the zombies looked like Daryl? It was a quick snipet from the extended trailer from comic-con. I hope they don't kill him off...he's the only good character.
It doesn't matter if you're watching the show or reading the comic, Lori is always a crazy, unstable bitch.
I love how EVERYONE was capping zombies last night. Rick just hands Carol a gun and goes, "you're a pretty good shot now." Clearly, she wasn't but it was just funny how everyone and their grandma was in on the action.

Yeah, that was interesting. I know that happened in the comic, but to a completely different character. I'm not sure what is gained storywise from Rick doing that to Herschel, since the story hasn't gone in the same direction as the comic, but it was shocking to see.
Does anyone feel like Carol looks waaaaaay older than Darryl. Just odd seeing those two get kind of romantic with eachother
I loved Rick giving Lori the cold shoulder, but I felt a small shred of sympahty for her being that she's pregnant. I see some of Shane in Rick now, minus the psychosis.
I seriously thought Maggie was about to get eaten right after she killed the zombie in the riot gear. Just the way they shot that with the big smile on her face, would have been a perfect time for a surprise kill. I'm glad she's not dead though.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Hershel got some serious comic-book-Otising in this episode. [Edit: Blarg! It was Allen]
Comic Book and potential show spoilers hooray!:
I hope they play The Governor completely different than in the comic. The comic has a tendency to make people ... just the worst possible resulting person imaginable. So, it'd be nice if there was at least some overarching identification with the TV Governor. The character in the comics, while interesting ... was very easy to dislike and even hate.
Some more spoilers woooo!:

I'm seriously interested where the Governor arc is going. I'm not sure how much they can do on TV/how much they are willing to do. Have Dish, so It'll be a while before I find out...
The more I watch the show and read the comics, the more I can feel for Rick. I just can't help it, I see a lot of myself in him. (Comic version hair included.)
Lori... I kinda hope she gets the comic treatment. I can't say much more without spoilorizing.

You know, she's never really bothered me as much as she seems to bother most people. Don't get me wrong, she can be quite irritating, but not to the point that I've wished death upon her.
Of course, a lot of people were complaining about Carl last season and were hoping a zombie would go pick his wandering ass off. I didn't feel that way then, but after only two episodes I now feel, at the very least, that he needs to be beaten about the head and neck. After enough time has passed for Hershel to go all drunk santa on us (thanks, stickem), you'd think by now that he'd learn not to wander off into unknown areas by himself. I don't care if he did it for a good cause, during a zombie apocalypse you don't go wandering off without telling anyone where you're going.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
I like what Carl did. I didn't see anybody else go looking for an infirmary. He was probably thinking, "Hey, is anyone here going to be...oh, I don't know. Fucking useful?" Carl has effectively paid Hershel back for saving him. He's also made the decision to take more decisive action so that what happened to Dale doesn't happen to anyone else. I get that a kid running off by himself is worrisome, but Rick and Shane have both tried to make Carl into someone who can take care of himself and I think they succeeded
The guy playing the prisoner who got the Machete in his head put it best on Talking Dead. He said Carl is becoming a badass like his father. Kid killed two walkers all by himself and made it sound like he didn't even break a sweat.
Also, I hate Hershel's daughters. They are weak as fuck mentally and emotionally. They give up all hope at like the drop of a hat. It's pathetic. One was all like, "I want to kill myself" last season. Now Maggie is all like, "It's okay dad. Stopping fighting and just give up and die." Jesus. It's a good thing Maggie's cute, as she's a real downer to have in an apocalypse. When she first appeared on the show, she seemed like a strong female riding on her horse and kicking zombie ass. She's the complete opposite now. They need Andrea and Michone in the group quick, because the ladies are all kind of pathetic. Letting the men do all the ass kicking while they whine and cry
I'm noticing Rick's character development is starting to be inline with the comic, but he doesn't come across as as much of a dick as comic book Rick was during the prison arc.
I like how lots of crazy shit happened when the prison arc started in the comic, and we're seeing the same thing on the show. The pacing and action have picked up dramatically.
So who's more badass now? Daryl with his crossbow or T Dog with his shield?
