Never got a chance to play shadow of the ninja yet. Since I got weekend off is shadow of the ninja worth trying to beat or is powerblade 1 and 2 a better option

IMO...

Power Blade > Shadow of the Ninja > Power Blade 2

I like Shadow a bit more, but Power Blade is more accessible. Either are good choices, just depends on how much challenge you want. Power Blade 2 can be pretty tricky if you don't know some of the little tricks with the suits and energy tanks and whatnot.

The NES port of Chiller is nowhere near as good as the original, probably because it was an unlicensed version, after all. The aim cursor is tiny and there seems to be a bit of lag in shooting.

Now POWER BLADE is a game we need to be talking about here. Heck, both of them. I also fully endorse Shadow of the Ninja.

I've had Power Blade, very solid game, a light touch of a mega man structure wannabe but stands amazingly on its own. Never touched the sequel, not sure I've ever seen the cart in person before, or likely I did in the 90s(later) and forgot. The pair are on that $20~ super games 150 in 1 modern pirate multicart. I'm looking to snap that up here soon, watching a few US based sales on it. Ebay has a pile coming up for $24 shipped.

Yup...I never thought I'd see the day that I'd actually actively avoid buying NES and SNES games (N64 for that matter mostly too if it wasn't for my lack of some cheap ones that are decent.) Nor did I think I'd be so repulsed by it I can't even motivate myself to play the stuff I have. I can't remember the last time I fired up an actual NES (not Famicom) or SNES game, kind of on SNES, maybe 6 months ago or something, but still.

I guess in a weird way it's a flash back to this happening to me as a kid with a small allowance and losers buying up comics and baseball cards when they went over the edge in 1991-2. I couldn't get a sub in the mail, had to go to the shop and they were like first come first served and the trolls would roll in as they opened (with me at school) and buy up the stuff to then resell in the pennysaver/want ads or take it to other stores to flip or their own to sell higher at a mark up. Same crap, just pre-internet. I've never bought a comic or baseball card since then either and that's 25 years ago.

That's why I used to get so hot about it, and now I'm over caring much about it and moved into Gameboy and Sega GG/Genesis stuff since it's not wrecked. I've been even considering selling off the stuff I have now short of old retail buys/gifts of the 80s/90s as my kid likes the old stuff too though she's too young to be any good yet.

I'll actively endorse anyone to buy a legit system or even a half cruddy clone if it will accept an everdrive or the sd2snes to avoid being fucked bluntly put.

I'm considering a game gear one just because the system can boot quite a few SMS games and it would be cool doing Phantasy Star on my game gear.

I can understand your reasoning. It's hard to see a game like super mario world, that is literally a dime a dozen, go from a five dollar cart to a thirty dollar cart in most places. At the same time though, if a game is good you might as well spend on it.

Personally I don't buy games that are more than $100, not cause I don't want them but I just can't bring myself to spend that much on one game. Now if a good game like, Super Mario RPG or Super Metroid or Contra cost me thirty to sixty then so be it. I like those games, I want to own and play those games and if I was a modern gamer then I'd be dropping sixty for a new console game anyway. I don't see anything wrong with paying sixty for an old classic, if the market says that's what its worth and the seller is happy with the price and I'm willing to pay it to have it in my console then so be it.

As for having cheaper avenues of gaming, that's a great idea. Plus you can never go wrong with gameboy, game gear, or genesis. But next time you see a good nes game that used to be $3 and is now $20+ just ask yourself if that game earned it's price tag.

Oh you have no argument there with me on that. It's the sting factor, and out of pocket my cap has long term been $50 and I stick to it, anything over better be from getting rid of stuff/flipping finds through paypal or a trade (or combo.) I have most of the considered cream of the crop stuff for NES/SNES aside from the faux rares or legits (like samson) that popped into orbit and I have no interest in that. It's more annoying on the million pressed stuff or the B-team games that are decent getting wacky prices if anything.

I ask that question on the $3 to $20 value too, kind of like I said the B-team stuff and personally usually I'd say no, but some sure. The stuff under that, definitely not, much like the losers charging(getting) $10+ for SMB/Duck Hunt or other pack-in carts of all things as that's just nuts. If the market wants to act insane it's fine by me, I stopped buying, so let people bleed their wallets until enough smarten up and it implodes, it always does.

I might as well add this amusing third to my 2 points earlier -- Sega in the day infuriated me bad, much like college rivalry in sports or maybe Chargers vs Raiders like angry with the Nintendon't ads, and for a long time I swore I'd never even own the stuff, then I did very late 90s on for a stretch off and on since, and now I'm getting more Sega stuff than Nintendo which is a first. Irony I suppose, sweet sweet irony. And to think if Nintendo was the one that imploded the Sega stuff would be getting screwed bad now and I can only imagine the nitpicking over how genesis clamshells close up, pricing on that vs cardboard boxes, quality of those, weak Genesis labels that crumble, etc.
