yeah it's amazing. I was playing Klonoa 2 today and wishing it was as flawless as Sonic Generations.

And that really says something. I've always considered Klonoa 1 & 2 to be some of the best examples of platformer level design and of the 2.5D perspective, but I think Sonic has now raised the bar even higher.

GigaByte AMD 970 motherboard 800 Watt XtremeGear PSU AMD FX-4100 Quad @ 3.6ghz Asetek 510 liquid cooling w/ 120mm fan. 8gb of DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6850 1gb 1tb 7200rpm drive ATX mainboard with 7.1 sound and USB 3
I think the 8 gigs and the 800 Watt PSU were kind of overkill, but good PC
Minimum recommended wattage was 600 for the machine and it's always good to have more than you need. Straining a PSU is never a good idea. The 8gb was for future proofing and was only an extra twenty dollars.
Good choice with Cyberpower PC. I bought a system from them, and although I had a problem at first (faulty memory) their customer service is extremely helpful, friendly, and most importantly fast.
Good prices too.

Yeah, my friend ended up having a PSU issue (he bought the recommended instead of going above) and it turned out his PC under full load was pulling a little too much power. They had a new PSU out to him in about 5 days.
I figured it was about time I weighed in on this topic, being a wayward Sonic fan who has been disenchanted with the series for many years now. Somehow I missed this topic until recently, and spent some time here and there over the past two days reading through all 20+ pages of this thread to catch up before responding.
Picked up Sonic Generations on the day it came out, and figured I'd give it a shot considering the demo seemed decent. My impressions of it were very high, and I could not stop playing until I'd not only beaten the game, but stuck with it until I had 1000/1000 gamerscore on the Xbox 360 version. It is Sonic's return to form in every way.
I work 40 hours a week and have very little free time, so I usually just beat a game and move on to the next one these days. For a game to hook me enough to complete all Achievements too is a pretty solid feat. This game delivered on every level and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The skill system was a phenomenal addition, despite my early skepticism, in that it let you tweak physics and abilities to taylor Classic and Modern Sonic to your play style. That stop on a dime one fixed any issues with the precise platforming, and there were many other fun ones to change up the playing style dependent on your mood.
After nearly a decade of sub-par Sonic titles, I'd figured Sega would never get it right ever again. I was never so happy to be proven wrong. This game ranks up there with Sonic CD and Sonic 3 & Knuckles as one of my all time favorites. My recommendation goes out to anyone on the fence, that they give this one a try, as you won"t be disappointed. Sonic is back and better than ever. As someone who grew up playing the originals, this is truly the first Sonic game in ages to completely live up to expectations.

That was pretty much my take too. It is not an exaggeration to say this is the first good Sonic game since Sonic and Knuckles.
