People usually mistake what my username is about, so I guess this thread is a good idea. The "flame" represents having a passion for what you do and what you believe in. Combining it with a large cat was sort of a loose homage to William Blake.

Re: What's your username mean?
I hate to admit my old handle/username was MasterSephiroth, or ZMasterSephiroth. Yep, my first AIM name was PhantomFF7... oh god.
Well Xeogred I just made up on the fly. I was literally looking through the dictionaries one day though going through the weirder letters trying to find like some Egyptian/Greek/Roman mythical beings / gods or whatever, but then Xeogred just kind of popped up and I stuck with it since.
Off and nowadays I use Ryvius sometimes too, which is just part of the anime title Infinite Ryvius. Unique enough that I hardly see anyone ever using it too, so it's cool.
That's about it.

Hehe, I guess I have no creativity, my username is my real first name and first initial of my last name:
Avram Epilepsia ---> AvramE
Avram Epilepsia ---> AvramE
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Bears are my favorite animal and swoosh comes from the sound a bear claw would make if it tried to hit you. I normally add 742 to the end of it since SwooshBear is normally taken.

Re: What's your username mean?
I hate my username. I don't remember how I came up with it or why I thought it was a good idea. That said, I've been using both Qirex and Pvt. Ryan for pretty much anything else. Pvt. Ryan as my name is Ryan and it gets comments in a lot of games and Qirex is my favorite team in the Wipeout series (and was one of the 4 teams present in the original Wipeout
)
I flip flop a lot with names. I think I like Qirex better though so I'm changing some things to that.

Older. Not wiser.

It's basically "index", if you couldn't already tell.
One of my favorite series of books is the Homecoming Saga by Orson Scott Card (say what you will about his psycho religious bashing of the gay community, the guy's a good sci-fi writer!)
Anyway, in the series, there's a character named Zdorab that uses something called The Index to speak with another character/entity called The Oversoul which is a huge sentient computer system in space. I just liked the way it sounded, so I started using it.

Re: What's your username mean?
Mendoza is actually a pretty common Spanish name, most often a surname or family name.
Most people associate it with the simpson's character, and I do as well, but its more a nod to
Antonio de Mendoza, the first viceroy of Mexico.
He did a lot for establishing education in Mexico and though he did slow the adoption of the New Laws (a set of laws that would put an end to slavery of indigenous peoples and the encomienda system) he did so out of fear of the rioting that would happen, not a disdain for the indigenous peoples.
