How about that Star Wars Ep. I: Racer?
That's kinda fun.

Hideo Ueda (from Axelay) directed the SNES version. Just to specify, since I wasn't sure if you were thinking of Team Ico Ueda.noiseredux wrote:wait -- Ueda made Sparkster???
The franchise as a whole was designed by Nobuya Nakazato, and he also made the 16 bit Contras that we all know and adore.
As to Hatta's question, I think they matter historically since they're fantastic platformers that stand out among the ridiculous number of similar games from that era.
Not to mention, they spawned a modern sequel in the download only Rocket Knight.

I used to be hugely into Wolf3D. I played tons of mods, my favorite being Spear End on Destiny. Even made my own levels, although I never published any. If you don't like vanilla Wolf3D, there's tons of other ways to play it. There's even an official game that uses it's engine, Blake Stone.Xeogred wrote:I've probably played more Doom than any game in the universe, but I just can't do Wolf3D. Sure I can respect it laid the grounds for Doom to follow, but yeah. I can't get into it at all.

Really? Fun? I never got really far, but I wasn't a fan. It was way too easy starting off. The drive was boring, the graphics sub-par even for an N64 racer (never played it on anything else, what did it come out for?).Opa Opa wrote:How about that Star Wars Ep. I: Racer?

I guess I'd be willing to give it another shot if folks can seriously attest that it gets much better.
