Great pick-ups! Hulk remains one of my favorite superhero games, although I haven't started Skies yet. Picked it up from a sale in the forums here a while back for a very reasonable price, and am still really looking forward to playing it.

I'm looking forward to playing Skies of Arcadia which I've just heard good things about and I haven't played Hulk in years. GameStop use to have it as a kiosk game and I was able to try it but I hadn't played it since then. Both games have been up my most wanted list for a while.

Sorry to hear about your GameCube situation but nice that the Wii is available to act as a suitable replacement until then. I've had Gun for a long time and haven't had a chance to rectify that yet.

Since we've been talking about expensive games on the Gamecube that were 3rd party and releases on other consoles I remembered one that is on my want list but crazy expensive... Time Splitters: Future Perfect. The 2nd one, which I have, isn't very expensive and the first one is under $20 on both PS2 and Xbox but it regularly goes for between $40-50 on the NGC.

The Gamecube used to be my console of choice for multi-platform games. I think this is because it was my 1st system of that generation (in other words, I chose it over a PS2 or Xbox at the time).
I also viewed it as the most reliable of the 3. I'd hear about PS2 and Xbox drives dying left and right, but GC, almost never.

Nowadays, I am forced to acknowledge that the disc drive will not last on any system. So games available on all 3 systems I tend to lean towards the most convenient to get on a modded system (Xbox for me these days).

Recently, I have been looking into options for dumping my GC collection to a portable hard drivefor use on my Wii, so maybe it won't be an issue for me in the future.
I had an Xbox and Dreamcast first and then the Gamecube and PS2. I am worried about the disc drive issue and I'll need to pick up some spare consoles which is why I really like the Everdrive situation though I don't know when or if we'll ever see a similar type device, in terms of what it does, for the cube.

Lastly, I saw pictures of a mini Animal Crossing Gamecube Standee on Nintendo Age today. That thing was epic. Does anyone have any Standees for this system?

I never heard of any Gamecube drives die, but I replaced the system board in one I have successfully after the graphics got all jaggedy, they looked like glass shards. I learned after that to never put a console on a carpet ever again  It was real easy to do after unscrewing the security bits, it was a perfect fit and it continues to run well.

I'm liking this thread came back!

I'm happy some people are still enjoying their Gamecube. I wish I could edit the title as I'd love for this to be a catchall Gamecube thread. Maybe I should create one? What I would like to see is a thread or in this one that talks about our acquisitions and finds, games we've played or are playing, cool collections or sub-collections like controllers or an Animal Crossing collection or just neat things we've discovered. I saw on EBay another outstanding mini Standee. This one though was Link aboard the Red Lion. The person who has it wants almost $800 for it though so no chance of me acquiring that one.

I don't see why this can't be that thread. Darsparx created it; maybe someone can PM him or get him in here to change it? I really don't want to see this thread die again.

Future Perfect is fun stuff. I finished that recently, actually. I've got the XBOX version, myself. Well, it's actually my brother's copy, if I want to be accurate. I don't think we differentiate much as to whose is whose. He buys a lot less than I do, he pretty much just has to sit around and wait for me to buy stuff. ;) But then, he also plays a lot less than I do, too.

Also, hope you enjoy Skies of Arcadia! It's my go-to example for a solid, well-executed JRPG. It doesn't really reinvent anything, it just manages to do most things at a high level. Sum greater than parts and all that. I'm just not sure they make 'em like that anymore.

Need some game suggestions? Check out V's Recommended Games. Not just for Gamecube, but a bunch of other consoles too. The Metacritic color codes are also useful.

Funny you guys are talking about the pricier NGC games. I have been meaning to sell some duplicates but have been so lazy about. Killer 7, Skies of Arcadia, Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos among a couple cheapo titles. Maybe eventual I post in BST threads.

I finally started Beyond Good and Evil and the Gamecube was my platform choice. Right now not counting duplicates I am at 102 NGC games. There is only a handful more titles I want, kinda sad really. I guess there are few I could get on the Gamecube instead of the Xbox, but I try to get the superior versions even if only marginal and that includes control scheme, which is why I got Beyond on the 'cube instead.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

I've got 25 of your games and want 16 of them. Of course there may be a few more that you don't have I want, and you don't have all those that I do, but that's pretty interesting.

The Gamecube is my favorite Nintendo console, but after nearly a decade and a half of struggling with it, I've come to terms with the superiority of the Xbox. As a result, my fervor for the Gamecube has appropriately waned. Also, I've grabbed most of the games that I want for it at this point.

I currently have 94 unique titles for the system:
1080: Avalanche
Amazing Island
Animal Crossing (Player's Choice)
Atsumare!! Made in Wario (Wario Ware)
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean
Batman: Vengeance
Battalion Wars
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Chibi Robo! (JP)
Crash Nitro Kart
Crash Tag Team Racing (disc)
Custom Robo
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Donkey Konga
Donkey Konga 2
Doubutsu Banchou (Cubivore)
Eternal Darkness: Manukareta 13-nin (JP)
F-Zero GX
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Geist (disc)
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (disc)
Gotcha Force
I-Ninja
Intellivision Lives!
Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senshitachi no Kiseki
Killer7
Kirby: Air Ride
Lost Kingdoms
Luigi's Mansion
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Mario Power Tennis (Best Seller)
Mario Superstar Baseball
Mega Man Network Transmission
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Metroid Prime (disc) (w/ Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Bonus Disc)
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (disc)
Namco Museum (disc)
Namco Museum 50th Anniversary
Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 2
Odama (JP)
P.N. 03 (JP)
Pac-Man Vs. / Pac-Man World 2 (Player's Choice)
Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution
Pikmin
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 4
Ribbit King
Rune II: Colten no Kagi no Himitsu (Lost Kingdoms II)
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem (disc)
Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights (disc)
Scooby-Doo! Unmasked
Shadow the Hedgehog
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (Player's Choice)
Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut (Player's Choice)
Sonic Gems Collection
Sonic Heroes
Sonic Mega Collection (Player's Choice)
Sonic Riders
SoulCalibur II
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: The Movie (Player's Choice)
Star Fox Adventures
Star Fox: Assault
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
Super Mario Strikers
Super Mario Sunshine (Player's Choice)
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Best Seller)
Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams
Tak and the Power of Juju
Tak: The Great Juju Challenge
Tales of Symphonia
The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
TimeSplitters 2 (disc)
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue
Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe 2
Wario World
Wave Race: Blue Storm
XGIII: Extreme G Racing
XIII
Zapper (disc)
Outside of the games I bought new around release, Gotcha Force cost me the most at an astronomical $30 CIB about a year ago. Most everything else I've been able to pick up for about $2 - $12. Most recently I was able to snag the Japanese version of P.N. 03, brand new, for $9.50; but the only other games I've bought for the system in the last six months are Rune II and Killer 7.

The few US releases I'm still interested in at this point are:
Beach Spikers
Dr. Muto
LoZ: Four Swords Adventure (just the disc. I have all the packaging)
LoZ: Twilight Princess (ditto)
Paper Mario (ditto)
Phantasy Star Online: Episodes 1 & 2
Pikmin 2
Rayman 3
Vexx
There are still quite a number of JP imports that I'd eventually like to have, though.
