EDIT: I guess I found something that answered my own question. http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/genesis/ ... ling.shtml

One thing that I find frustrating, is that as far as I know, there is no way to check how much money you have other than walking into a store.
The menu option that shows you a quick overview of everyone's health (don't remember the name of it) also lists your cash in a box on the left hand side of the screen.

Thanks, I can't believe I missed that. Must have opened that menu a hundred times.

A little bit of glitchiness here!

I just took the spaceship up after shutting down all the dams. It's funny, because I remember beating the game when I was younger (I can even picture in my head the path to the boss in the final area), and the guy in the first tunnel that blocks your path, but otherwise everything else in the game is foreign to me (well, Nei stuff too I remember). It's weird how our memories work. I do look forward to beating this game again, it's something I've wanted to do for years, but these older RPGs, if I don't work my way through them fairly quickly or at least keep at them, when I do finally go back I can't figure out where I am or what I need to do so I have to start over.
Huge RPG fan.

I'm not sure what's next for me... I could play one of the games I was intending to complete for the summer gaming challenge, which I essentially abandoned once Together RPG began. But I also have a strong desire to jump right into Phantasy Star IV. Either way, I'd like to finish at least one more RPG before Planescape: Torment.

Trying to compensate for the fact that I was DFL with Shining Force II.

Really though, I completed the game about two years ago (GBA port) so a lot of it was still fresh in my mind.

I don't juggle multiple games like a lot of you guys, so I put all my focus into PSII.

The first time I played the game I did a lot of grinding and made sure I was stocked with the best items before the final dungeon. This time I just said eff it and rolled with what I had. I made out okay, though the second-to-last boss gave me some trouble - I lost Kain and had to teleport out to resurrect his dead ass.

My first playthrough - Rolf was level 35 when I finished
This playthrough - Rolf was level 27 (he and Amy still had unlearned spells)

I wish PSII had a timer, I'd like to know how long it took me to complete.

Overall, this is a game I'd recommend to folks who are interested in the history and evolution of the JRPG genre. It's not a good choice for someone simply looking to play a "good RPG."

I just finished up the dams, and am now navigating Skure with the terrible foreground fog/clouds.

The final dungeon is the only one without clouds or pipes. This game is such a tease.

Low, I guess? I'm around level 12 or 13, but after reading your posts, I think I'm going to start straight going for it.
