E3 2016
Re: E3 2016
Is it just me but other than the whole half upgrade console rigamarole from both MS and Sony there wasn't really much going with E3 other than Nintendo covering up their lack of really anything going all balls out with Zelda. I actually forgot that E3 was even during the week and worse yet I only checked in once around Thursday and found a depressing lack of much of anything. Either E3 is falling off the face of gaming in importance or the industry is running out of ideas/blew it off compared to other years. I find it a tad depressing as I've always looked forward to E3 week to see all the goodies and that just didn't happen.
Re: E3 2016
There was a lot actually, just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean nothing was shown.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: E3 2016
Well I know what you mean but compared to a lot of years, remove the halfbreed upgrade systems, it was pretty sparse. Keep in mind I have PS4, Nintendo, PC and Android/IOS stuff so there would be a lot to comb over for interesting stuff.
Re: E3 2016
I think this E3 was fantastic and better than expected, when I went in pretty optimistic. Far less cringeworthy than the last few years too. I like how it was right to the point. A lot happened, a lot you're obviously not interested in or something. I don't even want VR but it's a fascinating tale to watch unfold and my money is on Sony easily winning that battle. Then they unloaded with exclusives and other news.

Re: E3 2016
I see a lot of people around the web talking about E3 being a disappointment and I felt that way at first too as evidenced by some earlier comments in this very thread, but I think it's just because the atmosphere was a lot more downplayed and less of a spectacle and that's how it should be.
The thing is, a lot more gaming news is trickled out year round instead of saved up for E3 and that does take some of the punch out of it. This is a good thing too though. Companies are no longer putting all of their eggs in one basket riding off the success or failure of a single press conference.

Re: E3 2016
I think that's the issue entirely. Much of what Sony yammered on about for their PS4 releases coming up from them alone was mostly known at least by name already if not with more info. Nintendo already said they'd be lost in the weeds other than that 3DS RPG they exposed pretty much just relying on Zelda. That's why I was just not impressed, the news cycle has shifted to a year around spread and not banking off June.
Re: E3 2016
Sony dropped a lot of news on their games on the horizon. Hands down they had the best conference and provided a lot of insight on what's to come.
Microsoft sounds very promising with Scorpio; was lacking on content gamewise for me.
People loved the Nintendo conference, even if it was just Pokemon and Zelda.
Ubisoft wasn't bad. Heard EA's was terrible. PC had a lot as well.
I don't think this year's E3 was bad at all to be honest and fair. We're in the midst of all companies thinking about their consoles reaching midlife crisis, and transitioning to next gen, I think they're jostling for rank on how to emerge victorious in this and next gen consoles (glorified PC's) at this point.

What?! Someone has an objective and balanced opinion of what happened at E3?! Wake me up from this dream Blu! All i hear is complain complain complain from most folks and it saddens me. We supposedly love video games, but what I see is a bunch of entitled and embittered children who can never be pleased with anything.Blu wrote:Sony dropped a lot of news on their games on the horizon. I know right? It's a sad state of affairs. I mean, we have a 24 hour news cycle, but for me a lot of this was all brand new stuff. I mean no one saw Last Guardian coming finally. I had thought it was cancelled. Delightful news. I think when I stopped focusing so intensely as to what's going on or what's being developed (I mean, look how toxic the Mighty No. 9 community got from all the pressure), I have been able to enjoy the news that I do hear.BogusMeatFactory wrote:What?!
