It's the source material, GFL, so fans will always mention the so far superior story line.

It's fair to judge the on screen action compared to the drawn and originally written dialogue. Lord knows I'd read Marv any day but would rather eat a buffet at the Sizzler than have to watch SIN CITY.

That was awesome. Cloak, sword, leashed zombies. . . Very comic-y, but awesome nonetheless. Lori being all bitchy to rick at the end though. . . They had an answer for iton talking dead but to leave it hanging like that, im not so sure.

I was definitely getting some sarah connor transformation vibes from andrea's little jog in the woods though.

The finale was pretty awesome. T-Dog finally got some dialog ... and he wastes it by being a pissy bitch. :\ This is actually very annoying, because he's a character that's only in the show, and they haven't done anything with him except make him black.

Michonne feels very out of place here. I mean it's cool, don't get me wrong ... but it doesn't feel like the show has approached that level of darkness yet to make something like that seem like the next step. The points where they did do things like that happened so long ago (wearing the zombie flesh).

So ... what do people want from Season 3? Something I'd really like to see is the character's breaking away from their comic book molds. Most everyone is sticking pretty close to the same character they were in the comics ... and it's kinda starting to piss me off. They really need to allow the TV versions of these characters to really grow on their own in this environment, not force certain things to happen just because it's similar to the story already told.

^^I think they are going to start developing T-Dog into Tyrese starting next season. They need another strong character to play off of Rick and I think he could be a good one to do it. They just have to ditch his gangbanger MO that he has going on right now and slowly develop him into the NFL type personality that Tyrese had.

I think Daryl is a far more likely character to step into the role of Tyrese. I mean, between him and T-Dawg, Daryl seems to have more balls. T-Dawg can't even outbitch Lorie.

Andrea could also step in as the show's "Tyrese". Now that Dale is gone, she no longer needs to fill the role of "Dale's Partner". And how convenient that Michonne was the one who saved her, considering the role Michonne played in Tyrese's life.

but it's not the comic book, which is why I don't know why the comparisons have to keep popping up. It's clearly not even trying to be, and it's a downer when people keep putting it down by saying, "it's not like the comic book" over and over again. It's like those annoying people who can't let you enjoy a movie because they have to constantly point out how it's not like the novel (I'm looking at you Lord of the Rings fans)

Nobody likes those people, I'm just saying. It's the Walking Dead tv series, not the Walking Dead comic book. I wish people would accept that and just enjoy it, the way Chris Hardwick clearly is.

Ah. I misinterpreted, as I fully agree with what you just said.

Yeah, it's inevitable that fanboys will be fanboys and although it can be irritating but it doesn't bother me. The show will continue to borrow from the source material, and anytime the story doesn't follow the book someone will bitch and moan. I enjoy how the series follows the books fairly closely but in more of a "you think you know what's going to happen, but you aren't sure" way.

Seeing the leashed zombies made my day though.

I wouldn't want them to do that, though. They need to really develop these characters on their own, not try to just make sure you get all the persona from the comic.

It does feel like Andrea will be Rick's backbone to some degree coming up. Though I imagine she'll have some words with him when she finds out Shane's dead and Rick killed him. And by words with ... I mean try to stab him in the face. I mean, from her perspective it could look like Rick left her there.

Some hard times are coming ... finally.

I personally believe the problem is that the show isn't different enough. They start exactly the same, and follow generally the same line. They stay too close for comic readers not to compare...

I don't think there's much dispute about that, but the writers want you to have your cake and eat it too.

There have been major changes on how the show is being run, and I definitely have noticed some changes. It's going to be a totally different show next season. And how brilliant were the writers to not reveal who will play Michonne, which was only so they could give the writers more time to cast the perfect actress?

But Forlorn, although some characters start the same, wouldn't you agree that some of the "goings on" in the show (especially the HUGE moments) have twists?

I'd pay for an episode of Talking Dead starring Forlorn Drifter and GamerforLife.
