Also, I would like to apologize directly to any offended parties - if there were any. I didn't feel that my little rant was vulgar or offensive in any way. But if you guys feel it was, I have no issues with it being edited/deleted for the sake of civility on the forums.

And to REPO man, none of my rant was directed towards you at all. I was complaining about those who would get upset over a mild swear word being said on a cartoon.

And according to Lauren Faust, Bloo actually said "peeved", but the CC person mistook it for "pissed".

it has been for some time. A swear word or profanity (when speaking of words as profanity can be gestures and even objects) is anything consider lewd and disrespectful. And many people are offended by the word "pissed" as this thread suggests.

Some people may not think it is merely because they aren't offended by the word. But the fact there are large groups of people who do consider it lewd, it thusly is profanity.

What I find funny is if you google if "pissed" is a cuss word there are debates where everyone concludes that it isn't a cuss word but it is offensive and rude. Which is the definition of profanity in general. Just because it's not on the FCC's list of no no words doesn't mean it isn't profanity.

And to take it a step further... profanity originally is a corruption of profane which merely means "not of the church" as in a Juedo-Christian church or temple. So by the true definition of profanity, a butt load of our language is "profanity". But that's just semantics... heh.
